Foreign citizen does it through the country's closest embassy or consulate. US citizen does it through Department of State.

You should get your passport amended to married name, then you can buy your airline ticket in married name too.

The Philippine Consulate in LA can do that.

You first submit a Report of Marriage. Then you file for a passport renewal. You can submit both at the same time at the Consulate in Los Angeles or at the Philippine embassy in Washington D.C.

You dont have to renew your passport since its still new, just file for Passport Ammendment to change name. You have to report your marriage too.

Claudeth's passport was expiring so we went to the Filipino consulate in L.A. We also had to register our marriage before they would issue the passport in her married name so make sure you take every bit of documentation you have. Fortunately for us we took the copy of the K-1 packet, the copy of the AOS packet and our marriage certificate. It still took about four hours and numerous trips to the copier store to make more copies of documents. They just wouldn't tell us at one time all the documents we needed.
