I didn't have a clue what Black Friday meant at all, or why it's called Black Friday. I don't think I have what it takes to venture into the fray, though. (The name, alone, makes me think of death. ) I went to the Boxing Day sales at Square One once. Actually, I spent 2 hours trapped in a line of cars trying to get to Square One, then another 2 hours trying to get away from Square One. We never did go inside the mall. Too hard on the nerves.

supposedly black friday means the businesses start operating in the black.

Oh but it's even worse....

Some stores will open at 5am!!!!!!! to start their business. Last year I made fun of my husband cause he went shopping with his mom at 5am for christmas gifts (I was still in Canada) but yesterday we got the dreaded phone call....she ask him if I would go shopping with her!!!!! Thing is we go to Michigan and spend 3 days in their house so it's kinda hard to get away from that....But I hate shopping and I am stiill not working so no money for me to spend this year. Plus waking up at 4am and being stuck in the stores for hours....HELL NO!!!!

I stay away!! lol I dont buy clothes online unless I have purchased them before. I usually check out Ebay! I bought 1 pair of shorts at a local sporting store for $50. Got TWO pairs (including shipping) on Ebay of the exact shorts for less than $30! Wife buys shoes from Zappos all the time! Shipping is free and same is the returns!

Zappos is the BOMB. I love that site!

I heard a radio commercial this morning....Kohl's here is opening at 4 a.m. on Friday.

Oh, yeah.......now, I hear K-Mart is open on Thanksgiving.

Nothing is sacred anymore.

Yeah, that is what they say it means. I personally think that is BS. I've seen our store reports!

Not sure about boxing day as I thought most people went back to work the day after. But Black Friday pretty much a lot of people have the day off so it's millions upon millions of people going out to start their Christmas shopping. Though I did hear it was an urban myth that it's the bussiest day. I think that's actually in Dec sometime.

So yeah from what I remember of the day after christmas shopping, that is Canada's equlivent to Black Friday...

I mistakenly went out on Black Friday once. Never again. Nope, not ever. Its a freakin' zoo and the people are animals throwing stuff all over the place. And no way would I get up before dawn just to catch a bargain. What a stupid day. Far worse than Boxing Day in Toronto IMO.

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!

Don't be surprised to actually see people camped out at some stores over night if there's something really big people are wanting to get this year.

Oh this shows the other busy days to shop, though it's $'s spent, I don't think they have as much as a rush as this Friday will. I never go out so I'll be at home as usual avoiding the cold weather we're now getting like the plague...
