POE, What line do CR-1 need to get in?

When our spouse come to America and the get to the POE what do they need to do?

I've seen posts saying the should go to the "New Immigrant" line.

Is there a difference between types of visa? K-1/2/3, IR-1/1?

Want to give my wife some heads-up when she gets to the airport.

The shortest one!

Doesn't really matter as the different lines normally process all different kinds of visas.

At least that's the way it is in Honolulu!

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

In NY, there are only 2 lines... USC and VISITORS. They will be able to distinguish anyways since you will be carrying your big brown envelope with you. You will then be asked or taken to an immigration officer that can 'process' you.

So I have a questions.. Rina mentioned 2 lines and I know does lines. 1 line for USC and the other one for Visitors which is usually always crowded and very slow.

When I pick up my family from the Philippines. Which line me and my daughter should go? Since we are both USC and my wife is the only new immigrant.

Should we stay with her on the Visitors line? or leave her there and me and my daughter go to the USC line.

Go to the shortest line together.

Here in Las Vegas they only have two lines , one for Residents and one for visitors. If you are new immigrant (regardsless of Visa Type) you have to go with the visitor's line. Just be prepares with your passport, I-94 (given in the plane, fill it up before landing) and the Visa packet (the sealed brown envelope).

I guess you should go with the USC/ Residents line because they process differently at the Visitors line. You can leave your wife at the Visitors line, she will be fine just meet her at the Homeland Security office.

at San Francisco POE, i noticed there were only two lines. for VISITORS and USC. the last time i travelled (using tourist visa) with my 2yr old son (USC), i lined up at VISITORS line. the immigration officer told me that i should have lined up at USC line. i dont know if travelling with CR1 visa would be different.

You and your daughter will be in the USC side and your wife will be in the visitors side. Just advise the airport police officers that you are with your wife who happens to be a NEW immigrant, so they can take you to the immigration officer together.

Very good advice RandyandRina. If the airport security at your POE is anything like O'Hare's you will follow protocol.
