Co-sponsor - husband and wife both sign I-134?

My father is my co-sponsor and I read in the packet 3 info that the co-sponsor, if married, would also need his spouse to sign the affidavit of support. Has anyone done this?

Also, I've read that the co-sponsors birth certificate is needed for some embassies - is this true for London?

No, there is no place for two to sign the I-134.

Copy of birth cert mey be included to prove citizenship.

The sponsor should include in the affidavit a statement concerning his or her status in the U.S. If the sponsor is an American citizen the affidavit should include a statement about how U.S. citizenship was acquired. If naturalized, the affidavit should indicate the date of naturalization, the name and location of the court, and the number of the sponsor's certificate of naturalization.

I realize there is not a place for both to sign on the I-134, but on page 8 of the packet 3 scan, it says it twice that if the sponsor is married, both should sign. http://www.visajourney.com/gallery/display...3&uid=30186

Then to be safe have both sign on same line in front of a Notary.

SSAH, is this what you ended up doing? Did it work out okay? I am in a similar situation and need to know how to handle having a married cosponsor whose finances are joint with their spouse (income statement will be their joint income and bank statements will cover their joint accounts). Anyone else have experience with this?

Yes, this is what we did, because our London Packet 3 said if the sponsor is married, the spouse should sign as well. When I had both mine and my co-sponsor's (my dad) affadavit notarized, I brought my mom along and they both signed theirs. I also attached a birth cert. copy for both of them, to prove they both are USC.

Andrew had his interview yesterday and was approved! So this worked for us.
