Hello all....... AMAZING AMAZING site. I don't know how I'd navigate this process without you and all this information.

I'm putting together my I-129F packet right now, have more than ample evidence of meeting in the past two years, etc. etc....

But, there are some questions in these impenetrable forms (it's government, after all) that confuse me. Any answers would be MUCH appreciated:

1) In the i-129F, question 10, it asks for citizenship acquired through (I got mine via birth in the US). And then says "give number of certificate".... What certificate is that???

2) On the G-325A, top line, last box (next to citizenship/nationality) there's a box that says "File Number A"... What is that????

3) On the G-325A, near the bottom: "This form is submitted in connection with application for:"..... I suppose I put "other", and then what under the specification??

4) On the G-325A, at the very bottom, there's the big bold box that says "Applicant: But sure to put your name and Alien Registration Number in the box outlined by heavy border below." ............. what is the alien registration number? I presume I don't have one, being a US citizen... my fiance, he's from the UK, has traveled here often on a regular visitor's visa, but I don't ever recall him getting an "alien registration number"......... what does this mean! Help!

Thanks!!!!

1 Put N/A they are looking for the naturalization cert. number for thos who naturalized.

2. You are a citizen, you dont have an A number...put N/A

3. check other, and put K-1 visa

4. you dont have an A number put N/A

Your fiancee will get an A number in the future when the application is approved and sent to the Nat'l Visa Center

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

THANK YOU SO MUCH. There must be a million people on this site - your response took all of four minutes!

Just to be sure about one thing... right now as my fiance doesn't have an alien registration number, he can put N/A on his G-325A. ... but later on, when he gets assigned one (does that happen when he arrives in the US under the K-1?), he'll have to use the number they give him?

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

actually its better to put 'none' as some have gotten RFEs for using n/a

So, put "none" under "file number A", "certificate number", etc?

I guess that makes more since, because NONE exists yet. :hehe:

I would disagree.

If the question doesn't apply to you (since she is a US Citizen by birth), you would put N/A

If the question does apply to you, as in the case of her fiance, you would put NONE since he doesn't yet an A number.

You are welcome to disagree. I would still recommend putting 'none'. The sample form here on VJ makes the same recommendation, plus some people have reported getting an RFE for using 'N/A' on their I-129f forms. Personally, I would err on the side of caution.
