Hi,

I was wondering if anyone else was told it would take up to 90 days for the NVC to recieve paperwork from the CSC and assign a case number? This guy I spoke to was very rude and abrupt. What is the average wait time for the NVC to recieve paperwork from the CSC? I am going on 22 days now. I hope it's not much longer now.

Thanks!

Don't worry. It is the general language that USCIS uses. Email NVC with your USCIS receipt # that is mentioned on your I-797 (Approval letter from USCIS) and inquire about it. NVC will answer you. Usaually it takes about 1-3 weeks for a case # to be assigned after USCIS approval. NVC email is: NVCINQUIRY@state.gov

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

Our case for the I130 petition was approved on October 10th 2007 at CSC. As of today (5 weeks later ) we have not received a case number from NVC. Our lawyer stated that at the moment it takes much longer than 2-3 months ago. It also seems that the I130 petitions have a longer waiting period then the I129.

Is anybody else out there that was approved for their I130 beginning October and has the NVC received your file yet or not? Please let me know....It shouldnt take longer then 5 weeks....this waiting is making us nuts lol.

K3s are getting to NVC and receiving case numbers in about a week (according to our latest postings here)

The wait did go up to 5 weeks for the previous batch of K3s (March filers), but is coming down now for the current batch of approvals. I made it from CSC to NVC in 2.5 weeks. But it has fallen since then, back down to VJer pkewl in I week! Best of luck to those still waiting.

It also seems that the I130 petitions have a longer waiting period then the I129.

Does anyone know if there is truth behind this? I have followed the K3 thread and seen the timelines decrease as Urge mentioned to about a week right now for one member ... while others, even other K3 filers, are still waiting.

Is it just a big 'ball' of inconsistency - and a guessing game as to what 'batch' your file gets sent over in?? Or do I130's really take longer (any stats to back it up - or just an assumption?) We have been waiting 2 weeks as of today - and nothing so far...

Hey guys,

it seems to take longer right now. I am not sure why it takes some people less time then others. We have been waiting til October 10th and as of yesterday our case was still not received by NVC. I am happy to hear that some people have more luck then us.

But I did talk to a very nice operator yesterday and she said that right now the average is around 4 weeks for the approvals to be received by NVC. To hang in there. My husband and I seem to check every day. Nothing we can do right now because the lady also said nothing can be done by NVC until it has crossed the 90 day mark. Then they would search for the approval notice and contact USCIS.

Everybody hang in there...waiting is the killer. We were hoping after waiting from USCIS it would go faster now....hope everybody else is doing well....keep us up to date to see how the cases move along

Todd and Tess,

it seems that your case is in a vr simular time line then ours. Keep us posted on how your case is progressing. Wish you guys all the best and hope our case is soon received by NVC.
