wife crossing to hand over complete k3 document package

My wife will be crossing into US from the detroit/windsor border around Thanksgiving time. She will be handing over the k3 document package. This is the first time she is crossing after she received her K3 VISA from Montreal consulate. Should she be watching out for anything? Does she need any extra documents? We are trying to avoid any trouble while she hand over the documents. The border guys can get pretty pesky for no reason at times (as evident of my crossing just yesterday, got checked and pulled into office for nothing). We do not want any troubles or delays while she hands this over. Any inputs?

Also, what is the I-94 form that she must fill out? Is this a one time form?

Thank you

when she goes to adjust her status she will need to file the I-693A instead of doing another medical.. Basically it makes sure she has the required shots.

07/03/2008 - Received Welcome Letter and Green Card in Mail.

I could be wrong but to my understanding , K3 visa holders dont require medical check up before crossing the border , they need it after they crossd the border so he dont realy need the vaccination worksheet , anyone correct me if I,m wrong but isnt it true only k1 visa holders need full medical before crossing and K3 need it after crossing the border ?

I think Earmuffs was just trying to inform the OP that it is easier for him to already have his vaccination worksheet on hand since he will be needing it when he goes to adjust status after crossing.

Just tell her to be honest and bring everything she needs (most importantly her passport with the K3 visa and the SEALED package that is to be surrendered to the POE officer at the border.) She might need a bit of American cash as well for the I-94 (which she'll be given AT the border - a piece of paper stapled into her passport.) I don't know how different the K3 is from the K1 - I came on a K1 with no problems whatsoever - but the guy did seem a bit surprised that I had practically nothing with me since he knew I was moving. lol Don't know if your wife will need anything extra if she's transporting several things (we just had our car with a few boxes and that's it - nothing was even checked but our documents and paperwork.) For us it was just a 20 min wait but I also had my then fiance with me and nothing was suspicious about our case...it was very straightforward and the officers were even joking with us...we had a very pleasant experience at the border!

Does the timeline even matter? I'm simply asking the crossing experience at the Detroi/Windsor border. She received the K3 VISA last month in October.

It matters since it tells others how their processes compare timewise with similar situations.- being a help forum and all, this is something that helps peepz a lot.

She'll be fine with her crossing - follow the other members' advise and prepare for a nice welcoming party.

Peace, L.

K3 does require a medical, I had to bring my results to the Interview.

I only needed my Vaccination supplement from the Civil Surgeon here in the US for my AOS.
