Does anyone have the link or can confirm where it officially states that Vietnamese translations into English of beneficiaries documents are no longer needed when returning packet 3? I remember reading it somewhere but I can't find the source.

Thanks,

No indication that the required documents need translation. Note most consulates just want DS-230 Part 1 and OF-169/DS-2001 returned, and those documents tend to be English forms.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

True! No more translation! However, my suggestion to you and your wife is to translate and notarized ALL official documents related to you and her. Here is why, once you are here in the US, guess what you have to do? AOS (Adjustment of Status) to get her Green Card. Guess again, how many District Officer in America knows Vietnamese? Zero to None! So, showing up in America with a bunch of documents in brownish looking paper from Vietnam, in Vietnamese is quite useless it seems to me.

I personally have everything translated and notarized by "Sở Tư Pháp" in HCMC: college degree, highschool diplomat, National ID card, Family Book, Birth Certificate (10 copies). For you will need these documents in America, for various reasons you will find out later. Doesn't cost you much in VN to get it done, but here, it will cost you somewhere from $50-$100 to have them translated, certified and notarized ect. by a professional service.

My thought, just want to share with you

Good luck
