PEOPLE!!!! Here to inform you that today, at 12:12 Mexico City time, my brother's wife gave birth to their firstborn. I am so freaking overwhelmed!!! One reason to thank God and to believe there's good in this world!!!

Welcome to life Diego Fernando; we loved you even before today!!!!

Super news!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Congrats!!! Glad to hear that your nephew is healthy and happy. He'll grow up to be a normal, well-adjusted and productive member of society, no doubt. Well, as long as he doesn't start taking after his Aunt Len. :lol:

congrats, being an aunt rocks. you can begin (or in your case probably continue) considering how you are going to be a corrupting influence in his life. My sibs are very religious-therefore nearly all of my presents to the nieces and nephews are cool science stuff. it looks like a toy but may broaden their horizons. hee hee

met summer 1999, summer 2000 hooked up-whoo hoo summer fling

summer fling failed to fizzle, married 2003

I-130 mailed 12/15/03

4/1/04 no word from NE contacted senators office, app found

NOA1 4/13/04

Gave up on ridiculously long US process-started Canadian

12/4/04 submitted app

LSS app returned because of missed signatures, lost in transit, resubmitted in June

9/28/05 landed, yippie

10/4/05 fly back to US to "finish up Master's" lose mind and switch to PhD

Damn it back to the US process

3/something/2005 finally get NOA2, no idea why it took so long

4/15/07 get case approval from NVC

8/9/07 Montreal here we come

10/14/07 hubby activated his visa

Being born in such a bohemian, poetic, theoretic and heretic family, Diego will have enough corrupting influences.... all geared towards living a happy hippy life; surrounded by books, knowledge and spoiling aunties he he!!!!

When you mentioned his name, I immediately thought of Diego Rivera. Whoever he was. :lol: No pressure on the kid there.... :lol:

I saw my niece last time before I moved, she was 12 months old and wasn't walking or talking yet. Now she does both amazingly and I have yet to see her!! It's hard to be a far auntie!

Holy shite IR5 -- that's exactly WHY they named him Diego. My brother and I are super fans of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo's work (until the azzhole dared say I looked like her :angry: ). Had it been a girl, it would have been Frida Fernanda.

10/24/2007 - INTERVIEW DATE!!!!!....APPROVED!!

10/30/2007 - Visa in hand!

AOS Timeline:

1/30/08 - Sent AOS pkg Priority Mail with USPS

3/12/08 - Biometrics taken

3/29/08 - EAD and AP in hand for me and my son

5/21/08 - Email-GC on its way!...RFE for my son's application

5/27/08 - GC arrives!!!

7/02/08 - Sons GC arrives!!!

ROC TIMELINE

3/23/10 - ROC sent!

3/29/10 - NOA1

4/22/10 - Biometrics Appt for me and my son

6/30/10 - Email saying card production ordered for me and my son

7/6/10 - Letter in the mail saying cards will arrive within 60 days

7/10/10 - Both cards received!
