Me and my stepson were singing songs in the car tonight. I went to sing the song "Nobody likes me, everybody hates me, I'm gonna eat a worm" when I realized- I don't remember all the lyrics.

Mel had no idea what I was singing- He had never heard of it.

Anyone remember the whole song?

This is the version I know:

Nobody like me, everybody hates, sitting in the garden eating worms

big fat juicy ones, long slim slimey ones, itsy bitsy fuzzy wuzzy worms

hmm, come to think of it I'm not sure of the next few lines

Someone else had mentioned it in the Canada forum recently- I got to thinking that maybe it was a Canadian thing? I remember we always used to sing it on the bus on field trips and summer camp stuff.

That is where I got stuck too. I remember the short ones, fat ones part.

Now you see why it is driving me nuts :)

My Husband (Australian) knows it, maybe it's a commonwealth thing :hehe:

In his version it is "I'm going to the garden to eat worms". He says the person is 'going' to the garden because no 'likes him.

He is kind of analytical.

Really we need to get to the bottom of this. Does no one like him because he eats worms or are the worms comfort food because no one likes him

I (USC) remember singing it when I was a kid (born in 1973)...

Nobody likes me.

Everybody hates me.

I’m gonna eat some worms.

CHORUS: (sing after each verse)

Long, slim slimy ones,

Short, fat, juicy ones,

Itsy, bitsy, fuzzy, wuzzy worms.

First you get a bucket.

Then you get a shovel.

Oh, how they wiggle and squirm.

First you pull the heads off.

Then you suck the guts out.

Oh, how they wiggle and squirm.

Down goes the first one.

Down goes the second one.

Oh, how they wiggle and squirm.

Up comes the first one.

Up comes the second one.

Oh, how they wiggle and squirm.

Everybody likes me.

Nobody hates me.

Why did I eat those worms?

2 "songs" that my Canadian husband sings that I had never heard of were... "The Unicorn Song" and I am not gonna spell this right..Eddie-Coochy-Catchy (or something close to that)..LOL

I remember all those songs as well. There was one called ... "Don't you laugh when a hearse goes by..." as well. They were bus, camp or brownie songs. hehe Gene never went to summer camp, where I ended up learning them all. I think anyone that never went to summer camps missed something!

My husband had never heard the "bringing home my baby bumble bee" song either- but I did know the lyrics to that one :)

I'm bringing home a baby bumble bee, won't my mommy be so proud of me?! I'm bringing home a baby bumble bee...

Oh, Ouch, he stung me!!! :o

I'm squishing up my baby bumble bee, won't my mommy be so proud of me?! I'm squishing up my baby bumble bee...

Oh! Eee! He's all over me! :(

I'm licking up my baby bumble bee, won't my mommy be so proud of me?! I'm licking up my baby bumble bee...

Oh! Eee! He's inside me!!

I'm bringing up my baby bumble bee, won't my mommy be so proud of me?! I'm bringing up my baby bumble bee...

OH! EEE!....He's all over YOU! :P
