Travelling to U.S. on B1/B2

My husband and I are thinking ahead and I am planning on going to Toronto to visit for a couple days and spend Christmas there in the snow. We would like my husband to fly back with me to visit here in the U.S. for the week following Christmas until about New Year's since his industry typically doesn't have much for work for that week. He has a valid B1/B2 but will be well into the process of the IR-1 (perhaps have NOA2 by then with a whole bunch of luck!).

Think there will be problems traveling using the B1/B2 (he has a Chilean passport/Canadian PR)?

It all depends on the POE officer, really. He needs to prove ties to Canada (letter from employer, lease, etc.); and even still there is a chance he could be denied at POE. Let's hope not!

Bring his entire case file too to show (if asked) that he's going the visa route and not trying to circumvent the process.

and don't count on there being snow at Christmas in Toronto. It happens sometimes, but not very often anymore.

A letter from his employer stating he is on approved vacation leave and expected back on a certain date wouldn't hurt too.

He owns his own company so getting an employer letter is umm him writing a letter about himself? He can bring current invoices issued to his builders for current work done, but other than that, no idea what he could do to prove his intent on returning to Canada.

I hope there is snow, Toronto had snow over Christmas the last couple years I lived there...
