Hello All,

I am petitioning for my husband in Manila. Although it was not part of CR1/ IR1 packet 4, I just wanted to know if they do ask for it at the time of the interview? There was a typographical error on the CENOMAR that we jsut recently received from them and they do not guarantee that it will be rectified by the time my husband will have his interview on November 15.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Rina

Closest I can come is I saw where a K3 was put on AR for a CENOMAR [CENMAR]check.

As you probably know there is lots of fake CENOMARs in PI due to the cost and difficulty getting an annulment there.

If he lives close to Quezon City he may be able to go to the main NSO office and have it expedited.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

That's what I thought :crying:

My husband already went to NSO and they told him that there is not enough time to correct it, even if its requested for expedited service. The problem was just one letter typo error on my name, instead of H they entered it as N. All of our other supporting documents have correct information on them. Our original long form marriage certificate clearly has the right information on it.

Do you have any suggestion, just in case USEM will ask for it? I have asked NSO for a certification to correct this information, so at least we have a proof that we are trying to rectify the error that they obviously made.

There's not a whole lot you can do. Strange he couldn't get it expedited if he went to the main office. You have to pay a little extra but normally it can be done.

At the same time I wouldn't worry about it to much. [Yeah I know you will anyway][been there, done that naman!]

AS it's rare for USEM to put peeps on AR to do their own CENOMAR checks on CRs and IRs.

Only other thing I can think of is to do an "Affidavit of discrepancy".

I think it would be better not to bring attention to the error tho.

Maybe have it "standing by"!

Just my 2 centavos of advice.

I think so. My friends wife (K3) brought her previous husbands death certificate to the interview and they put her in AR till she got the Cenomar. My brothers fiancee had to get her cenomar also after her annulment. If there is a typo error in it I wouldn't bring it to thier attention.

I would understand that most probably they will ask for it on K3, however this is for IR1. My husband and I have been married for over 2 years, has a son and he has all the annulment documents. The error was just one letter, insted of letter h they put n instead. It's really teeny weeny error. Should I really be concerned??

Your hubby having had a annulment should elimate them from being concerned about CENOMAR or CEMAR.

Same trip with my wife as she is a widow and CENOMAR wasn't an issue.

Could it maybe depend on the CO? My friends wife was a widow also and brought her husbands death certificate and they requested the Cenomar. She was a K3.

Could be as my wife was K3 also and wala.

I have also heard USEM does random CENOMAR checks also. Who really knows.

Just best to have all your "ducks in a row" and let the CO shoot away!

Hi. I dont know how many days you have before your interview, but you may want to take a look at this info I posted in another thread. Per the email exchanges with NSO, you will see that if you order your cenomar through ecensus web site, YOU are in complete control of entering in your Correct Name and other info, no possibility that some other human will retpe it with a clerical error. Check out the ecensus site and see if you can submit right away when the delivery will be to you, if that will occur before your interview..that way you will have it "just in case". Good Luck!

I sent an email to the eCensus site requesting info on this. I am posting their helpful reply here. Maybe it will help others in the future.

Subject: Re: Question Regarding Ability to use e-Census to Request CENOMAR when BC name is annotated under RA 9048

Dear Samby:

Thank you for your e-mail.

You may submit your request for Certificate of No Marriage Record (CENOMAR) via our e-census website (www.e-census.com.ph).

This is to clarify that whatever details the requester submitted during online application will be the same details that will be printed on the document result of the CENOMAR request. These details will also be the basis of document processing. From the time the requester confirms and submits the details of his/her online document application via the e-Census website until the document is processed after payment, there is no human intervention from our end or from the e-Census processing center.

Thank you.

Yours truly,

e-Census Operations

Good Day:

Can you please advise me if I may utilize the e-Census Web Site to request a copy of my CENOMAR. I have just completed the RA 9048 Correction of Clerical Errors process to correct the spelling of my First Name. That process is now completed and I have in my hand my annotated NSO Birth Certificate that shows the original (incorrect) First Name in the body of the form and the corrected information annotated along the side of the front of the document.

I have never been married. I am not certain if a CENOMAR document request utilizes the information from the Birth Certificate. This is why I am writing to inquire.

1. May I submit a e-Census request for CENOMAR?

2. If Yes, does it matter if my e-Census submission is made with my real (corrected) first name or must I use the original NSO BC incorrect first name?

3. Since I have never been married, will it make any difference which first name I submit, as either will result in a NO Marriage Record found.

Thank you for your quick reply.

Wishing Everyone Speed, Success, Happiness and Love,

TinTin and Samby

It would appear that Manila is requiring the CENOMAR for all these types of visas now.
