This is what I found on USCIS website and I am totally disheartened. longer processing time = longer separation. :crying:

Advisory on Processing Times

In the past few months, USCIS has received a significant increase in the number of applications filed. As a result, processing times will likely become longer for applications filed after June 1, 2007.

USCIS is working hard to address the increased volume and will continue to provide additional information on application processing times as it becomes available. For more information, please see our Frequently Asked Questions on receipt delays.

I wonder how true this is. Why are they inflicting so much pain on us?? :crying::crying::crying::crying:

They had increased the filing fees too right after that...with that they should hire more workers. To be honest they do advertised opened slots for USCIS employment. I know because I get weekly updates from federal and government employment opportunity.

I think most of us knew that the huge delays we've seen over the past few months would have an impact further along the line... if they were having problems inputting the volumes, they will also have problems when it is time to work on the cases :(

USCIS are still processing end April/early May cases, so they have a month to get their act together and hire more staff. Keep your fingers crossed.

I really feel for anyone who is caught in these extra delays :(

And it takes time to train people...Of course, they could have hired people, trained them and then up the fees so they could be ready....but, everyone knows that you just stamp a piece of paper and it happens. I feel for the joes and jills working our stacks of applications. I bet they didn't know what they were getting into.

It doesn't say that anywhere officially, Neophi... 4-6 weeks is the current delay people are experiencing on this forum. If you look at the April thread, you will see that some people had their approval around the 20th Sept and have only had them entered onto the NVC computers in the last few days :(

We hope it will improve :(

I hate to be a bearer of the bad news but from my latest tracking/readings here on VJ, most approved(NOA2) petitions are taking anywhere from 4 to 5 weeks(as of recent) and I think for some apps it has taken even more time/weeks to transfer to NVC. Hopefully, I am wrong on my deduction.

I still haven't recieved my NOA2 yet but this long transfer delay to NVC(once NOA2 is recieved) is depressing and disheartening to me, as for many here, I am sure. For me(and I guess for most post April/May filers), this is yet another blow. I still remember back when I filed my wife's I130/K3 petitions in Mid-May, the USCIS to NVC transfer time was just 4 - 6 DAYS and NOT 4 - 6 WEEKS. Anyhow, at this point, I personally would be just happy to receive a NOA2.

Sorry once again but unless something changes, this is the reality. I would rather have my mind psychologically ready for 4 - 6 weeks than NOT because otherwise when I get disappointed, it hurts too much, just like my increasing timeline to receiving NOA2. :(

Good Luck to all.

pkewl, same here - when we filed for I-130/I-129f back in April 2007, we were looking into having my husband in usa by christmas. and, that seemed LONG back then.

now, due to all these complicated delays (seems like a new one is sprouting at each stop), we will be lucky to get our NOA2 by the end of January 2008!

how cruel and unjust. but, oh well. one good day, it will be all over!

patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet!

pkewl, unfortunately this doesn't really tell us much that is new. They are already stretching for 6 months (using NOA1 dates for april filers instead of receipt dates so that they can make it). As they get closer to the pile of fee beaters, they might have to officially bump it to 7 months? I hope it doesn't effect early/mid June filers like yourself.

However, I will still keep my faith that they will be here by Christmas this year.

It should take about a week from NVC inputting a I129F (K3) on their computers to mailing it off to the embassy.

Oh wow! That's very encouraging, because the Guide is kind of misleading "Case Forwarded by NVC to U.S. Embassy in your spouse's country: 1-4 weeks."

I can't believe it takes less time to send from NVC to foreign than from local USCIS to NVC. I mean, does anyone know what they do during that time? Extra processing? I mean, it's already approved, why not just throw it in the mail bin? :)
