I know that most applications are taking up to 38 days to be approved. Does anyone know when the best time is to call the NVC to talk with a person and have them check manually? I appreciate the input.

I have called at all different times of the day - sometimes you have to redial 5-6 times, but eventually you get through.

They say early in the morning or just before midnight it's easier to get through - haven't checked that out myself.

They are open from 8 am to midnight eastern I believe. Have you been trying the automated message system and found they still haven't acknowledged receipt of your file?

That's what we've been doing - getting the automated system. I'll suggest to my fiance that he try early in the morning or afterhe gets home from work, before he goes to bed.

Thanks, Trailmix

I had at least a modicum of success if I called between 9PM (Eastern) and 11PM (Eastern) and a lesser amount at 11AM( Eastern). The only thing I found that works is persistence. I've had days when I got in on the first try and other days where I didn't get in after 7 or 8 tries. The phones seems to be busiest during the second and third weeks of the month. This is presumably due to the fact that everyone is trying to call to see if they have an interview date. I also never waited for the full message. If I heard a message that all the lines were busy, I hung up and tried again. If I pressed #1, and then #5 and I heard the Spanish voice, I hung up.

Sounds like you have the technique down pat!

I just called them, just hung up actually, I think I redialled 5 or 6 times before getting put through to 'hold for the next available operator'.

It can be done!

Yes I do, and isn't amazing how I managed to maintain my sanity throughout the process.
