It's finally over! After 3 years of separation, my wife finally has her greencard and will be coming home shortly. Her interview at the Hongkong Consulate went on smoothly, and she will be getting her stamped passport in the next few days.

I would like to thank everyone here for sharing your experience. Without VJ, I could not have gone through the entire process by myself. Our case was as simple as it gets - we've been married over 5 years and have a son together. However, government has its ways of getting at you, and I've always said that if the rest of the US government is run like Immigration, there would have been a revolution years ago.

In hindsight, I would not have filed the I129 at all. It added a 2-month delay between I130 approval and transfer to the NVC. Had we decided to stick with consular processing, we would have been done not much later than the time my wife got her K3 visa. Of course, YMMV.

Lastly, my best wishes to those who are still in the pipeline. Do what you need to do and keep hanging in there. Your turn will come.
