Hello everyone here at Visa Journey. So far I have just done a lot of reading and a couple of questions to people in a similar situation. I figured I would ask my own question on the forum to see what people suggest.

From all of the reading I have done I have com to the conclusion of going for a CR-1 Visa after being married in December but I figured I would ask everyone here their opinion.

Question is:

Should I pursue a K3 or CR-1 Visa?

Plans:

I am a USC planning to have a marriage in Japan in December 2007. She is a Japanese native. She lived in the USA for a couple years as a student. She received a DWI (Like a DUI but not as bad). I will start a professional Job in January and do not mind living apart for sometime while I save money so when she comes to the states we have a place to live and a car for her (all of her needs can be met when she finally comes here).

I am thinking to go a CR-1 instead of a K3 because if the CR-1 does take a little longer we do not mind. Also, she won't have to apply for a change of status when she comes here to the states.

Does anyone have an opinion that differs from what my plan is and if so why?

Thank-you everyone who has already been of help, I really do appreciate it!

Charles

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Opps! Thank-you for the link.

Is there any way for me to delete this thread? I am kind of new to online message forums.

Thank-you,

Charles

Just for reinforcement, if you're leaning towards the CR1, go for it. You won't regret it. :)
