Yea I am just awkward in dresses or anything remotely girly.

That's the 3rd dress I've ever worn in my life, the 2 others were my high school prom and my college prom. I have no high heels shoes but 4 different pairs of steel toe. I have some make-up that is probaly expired with dust on it because I never wear any, and running shoes and jeans are my best allies. I feel better wearing dirty clothes working on my hubby's muscle car than wearing a nice skirt (hang on do I have a skirt? )

I am so not a girly girl either and was really surprised at how much I enjoyed wearing my weddding dress! I figured it would be one of the last times that I am in a real dress anyway, so why not make the most of it!

As for veils, I got mine from veilshop.com. Wasn't expensive - I think around $50 or less? - and best of all they send free samples so you can match it to your dress.

Our photographer was about $600-$700. We decided that to keep costs low that we didn't really need him for the entire reception (which would have cost over $1000) so we had him do the getting ready shots, the ceremony, the bridal party, and the first dance. Then for the reception itself we had the disposable cameras on the tables. Worked well for us.

A solution for getting a veil (in large cities)--go to a sari (Indian clothes) shop and buy a dupatta!

For $250, you can get a gold-dipped-silk dupatta easily.

My mom's friend made my veil, it was very pretty and detailed too. The whole cost us about $20 and a perfect replica to the original one I wanted which cost $200. Now the tiara, well that's another story. That sucker cost me $300 smackaroos!

My dress only cost me $500. But the tiara and jewelry to match also cost $500. Throw in another $350 for alterations! Uffffff! I hate thinking about it!
