Does anyone who when visa are sent out in the mail?

Ok, so I was hoping that my visa would have been sent out by now. I checked Canada Post website to track it and this is what it shows me...

Unfortunately we could not find your tracking number in our system.

The information may not be available if your item was mailed recently. Our systems are updated daily.

Please make sure you enter your tracking number exactly as it appears on your envelope, label, or receipt.

So...Does anyone know when MTL mails them out? I looked on VJ and saw other members saying that their visas were mailed out the next morning. I wanted to buy plane tickets today and was hoping to see that my visas were already on their way here. Should I wait till later today to check? I wanted to get the plane tickets 1st thing this morning so that I could get a better price for them, but this pkg is driving me crazy.

There seems to be no set pattern when they mail out the visas. Sometimes the next day, sometimes a few days later!! As well one can't totally count on Canada post tracking system. I sent stuff from Halifax to Stoon with tracking, and it didnt always up date!! You just had your interview yesterday, so you should have it fri or Monday

I think you should wait to see it on the site first before buying a ticket..

I was thinking so too. I dont plan on moving until at least November 13th, but I just like knowing that I won't have any delays. I'm sure that it'll get here no later than next week, but I can't help being paranoid lol.

Don't worry. Mine said that for days, then it finally updated. You'll probably get it at the beginning of next week *S*

I think it's a pretty safe bet you'd get your visa in the mail before November 13th. I'd go ahead and book but read the fine print on fees if you do have to rebook it.

ya, it'd probably be like $100 or $150 fine to change it.. plus any flight cost differences

but since it's like 2 weeks away, you should have the visa by then and won't need to!

I agree with everyone above..

And Canada POst tracking system is NOTHING like Fed Ex.. it's not reliable or accurate.. ask any mailman.. From my experience, often the package is not even in the system until after it's been delivered

Normally--the airfare goes up, the longer you wait, so don't wait too long

Check at about 5:00 pm...or after 5:00. I was checking the one day and got the same messsage and was very nervous. Then I checked after 5:00 and there it was.

Thats what I been thinking flames. I have bought so many plane tickets in the past, so I know that the prices will start going up everyday I wait. Right now, 2 one-way tickets from Toronto to Atlanta Georgia is $706. To me, thats too much, but I worry that it'll go up more. I'm going to wait until tomorrow. I'm still tired from yesterday. Hopefully the prices will either go down, or stay where they're at and maybe Canada post will get thier sh!t together and add my pkg on the site lol.

I'm basically just saying the same thing as everyone else, but I really wouldn't worry. I sent a package to my hubby in the US once, and it was supposed to take 2 weeks to get here. Every single day for those two weeks, I checked the Canada Post website and it said the package was still in Richmond BC. Needless to say, when the package did arrive 2 weeks later, the website still hadn't changed.

I would book now! Plane tickets sky rocket sometimes even from one day to the next, so I wouldn't put if off any longer. Your visa will be there any day now

You can enter your tracking number and add your email address and they will email you as soon as it has any action. Thats what i did.

Well, I checked Canada Post website again and I guess my visas haven't been sent, or as Emancipation said, Canada Post didnt even bother to put the info in their system yet. Either way, I'm going to get my tickets tomorrow. I'm sure that they will be here before I go. Thanks again everyone for your help!
