DS 156 EVAF and DS 157 forms for K1 interview

We're just days away from Juan's K1 interview in Juarez, Mexico. I keep going through the Fiance Packet to check and recheck that we've completed all of the right forms... and in the right way!

In doing this, I refer to several sources:

1) the paper Fiance Packet that I received in the mail;

2) the portion of the Juarez Consulate website that is dedicated to the Fiance Packet; and

3) the homepage of the Juarez Consulate (which I started reading really carefully this morning...)

One would hope that all three of these would contain the same information *and* the same forms... but that doesn't seem to be the case.

In re-reading the homepage of the Juarez Consulate I realized (it seems) that it's not acceptable to have completed DS-156 form available as a PDF download on the Consulate's own website

(at http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/wwwhiv...ml#fiancepacket, then scroll down to Fiance Packet)

-- that we must, in fact, complete the EVAF version of the DS 156 form online (link is on the Juarez consulate homepage at http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/)

We'll do this, of course, and have BOTH versions on hand with us next week-- but I'd like to know if anyone else can confirm that the PDF version (even filled out and printed on a computer) of DS-156 is not accepted (at least at Juarez).

NOW, for my main question-- about DS 157...

It's not mentioned in the K1 fiance packet at all (not on paper, and not on the Juarez consulate website under "Fiance Visa Packet"), but I see on the homepage (along with the EVAF notice for DS 156) that DS-157 is for "males between 16-45 years of age".

Do we need to complete DS 157 for Juan's K1 interview?

Replies are MUCH appreciated... we will meet in Juarez on Monday and hope to be done with the whole thing on Wednesday night. Wish us luck, please...

oneworld,

They are wanting the 'electronic' version of the DS-156 (not entirely the same as the PDF or paper version) - Some embassy/consulates want the electronic version yet send the paper one in with Packet3. It's fairly new so that may be the reason... it can be found HERE

The DS-157 must be completed by males 16-45 years old (with some exceptions, but the K1 is not one of those exceptions) - a down loadable one is here on VJ.

Hope this helps,

Thanks, Karin & Otto-- both for the clear answers *and* for digging through my wordy posting! ;)

We'll fill out the online non-PDF version of 156 (sigh... the online PDF version already took almost 2 hours to complete, and that was the Spanish version... why don't they just remove that link from their website?!)
