He will shed clothes and shoes as he walks through the house to the bed after working overnight. Drives me crazy to trip over clothes and shoes when I get up.

I hated shopping with my husband in Jordan. It litterally took him over 30 minutes to choose a pair of socks. I finally had to threaten to get angry at him if he didn't just get a pair of socks for GODS sake! LOL

Now that he is going to be here in just a matter of days, I am not looking forward to shopping with him here in the US. Wonder if I can avoid it?

OMG!!!! I REFUSE to go shopping with Hicham! He takes HOURS! Back when he was here in the States, it was understood that he would do the grocery shopping. He was good at it! I actually hate shopping so I didn't mind!

He also insists on smoking on the can. Why, I dont know. Someday I expect to hear a blood-curdling scream or a big boom emerge from in there.

This was my husbands grandparents house. Heaven forbid if anything should be different that the way his grandmother had it. We did some painting last year- I had to fight tooth and nail for that. In the Vanity area where I do my hair and make-up, it is all pictures of his relatives. I don't want to be disrespectful but I would like to have pictures of my own up there.

Ohhhh...where to start! We've been together now for 7 years and I've got quite a list!!!!

Hicham is a BIG germ-a-phobe, so he'll follow me around sometimes to make sure that I've washed my hands or something like that.

He also checks the oven to see that it's turned off before we leave the house EVEN IF WE HAVEN'T COOKED ANYTHING! And he does this at other people's houses that we go to visit. He doesn't say anything, but I watch him and I know that is what he's doing. A couple of times I just look at him and he says..."It's off."

HAHAHA oh man. Yep that sounds familiar.

Getting Defensive??

You initially said when you are talking to someone or doing something your husband is calling your name over and over. When you finally respond to him, he says, "Can you get me a glass of water?"

To me, this sounds he's oblivious to what your doing or brought up to expect you to drop what your doing and bring his glass of water. Sorry. What other reason could there be????

What "assumptions" (OBSERVATIONS as a more accurate word) of mine aren't true?

That middle eastern and south asian cultures are more traditional in their expectations of mens and womens roles in marriage...??

That is quite a statement to make based on my comment of him being unpatient in asking for a glass of water. You went off on this whole tangent of husbandly duties and him being lazy and demanding. You based this all on the statement I made of him asking for a glass of water which he did not demand nor would he ever. Those are called assumptions not observations. You know nothing about me, my life, or my marriage that would allow you to make any kind of observation.

And you think that one statement I made qualifies you to make those comments? You are sadly mistaken. The fact that he asks for a glass of water doesn't mean he is dismissing his husbandly duties as you stated earlier. By the way, who asked you to see the charm in him hollering for a glass of water? Or the charm in anything that is posted here in this thread. I'm sorry that my husband is not nearly is perfect as yours however this thread was made for people to vent about pet peeves and not for you to piss all over it.
