need help , visa expires by march 2008

Dear VJ Memebers,

friend asking ....

I got my k-1 visa by 26 September and it expires by march 2008..someone i know told me I'm supposed to leave to the

States during one month starting from the day i get it...till now because of financial problems i couldn't get the ticket..

is it true that I'm do i supposed to leave during a month or the visa will be cancelled

Once issued, the K1 visa is valid for 6 months. If you don't use it before 6 months, it will then expire. However, as long as you arrive in the US prior to the six months, the visa will still be valid and you will then have 90 days in which to marry your fiance.

Your K1 visa is valid for 6 months. Then you have 90 days to marry once you arrive in the States.

In reading your other thread, it sounds like your visa was approved but not issued. The six month ticker will begin once the visa is issued, so you will have even longer than until March 2008 before you actually have to use the visa to come to the US.

this thread is for a friend who already got his visa , because of his infected computer he could not write & ask here on JV
