Forward dating g-325a?

Almost ready to mail off the first paperwork for K-1. In two weeks, I'm going to leave my job in Beijing and go traveling with my boyfriend for a month and a half. Then, I'm back to US to live.

I put my parents' address on my I-129 form (where I will live when I get back to US) and my boyfriend's parents' address on his. (We live together now. But he'll move in with his parents when we return from traveling in order to save money.) I think it doesn't make sense to write down as my current residence an address where I won't be living in two weeks. I want to mail the forms now, and not when I return to the US in December, to speed up the process a bit.

Can I fill out my g-325a as if I'm already traveling? By the time they receive the forms, I most likely will be. (I have to mail the forms first to my parents, then have them mail it within the US) I would write in the "present" spot that I am living at my parents' address (same goes with my boyfriend) and that I'm "unemployed." (I don't plan to stay unemployed for long, though.) This will make it consistent with my I-129. This won't hurt me later?

Also, my boyfriend is a freelance graphic designer. I can just write that he is "self employed," right? He doesn't have his own company; he just takes on design projects or works very temporary stints at advertising agencies when they are short-handed.

Thanks so much for the good advice so far.

I'm afraid I made my question too complicated. What I really mean to ask is: does your "present" address on G-325 need to match your address on I-129? Can I put my parents' address (which is my permanent address) on I-129 and put my current overseas address on G-325. Or will just confuse the visa people and cause problems?

More than three years. I was told by several people that the fiance visa is the fastest from China. (specifically the visa consultant people outside the US embassy) But I never heard of DCF -- just reading about it now. What's your opinion?

DCF is the fastest but maybe only a month or so faster than the K1 from filing to interview. I suggest people make their life plan first as it pertains to when and where to marry and then follow the appropriate visa path. Since you can file the I-129F (It is not an I-129.) now and would have to wait until you arrange to marry, before filing DCF. Timeline from now to interview may well be shorter with K1.

To your main question, yes, I would use your parents' current address as your permanent address on all forms. If you want to give a sentence or two of explanation of your plan, in your cover letter, that would be good. There's no need to fiddle with the dates, but you can certainly date the papers for the time frame your parents will mail them. If so, make sure they aren't mailed before the dates next to the signatures.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
