Well... actually going through the immigration process and in the throes of waiting I have actually sat down and tried to think of all the things I can do in the next 7 months to 8 months that its going to take for my husband to get here

I could

Clean every closet thoroughly

I could

Start learning French properly

I could

Take a pastry class or some kind of protracted art class

Some how living until my next trip to Algeria and then counting days again is somehow not working. The California service center is moving slower.. and slower and slower.. The only I can pray for is a speedy trip through NVC and to get the hell out of USCIS..

I am strongly thinking about buying a sewing machine or joining some kind of club. I need somehow to spend these lonely months doing something besides going to work and coming home and occasionally logging into the net.

I wonder what other people with protracted wait times are planning especially those beginning AP which seems to take forever.

I spend a lot of time on the phone and Yahoo Messenger :P Actually, I went to visit Claudeth right after I sent in the packet so by the time I returned a month later the petition was already approved and in Manila

I'm usually real busy with the kids when I have them, which is most of the time lately since my ex is an a-hole and likes to race cars more than spend time with his kids...but that's another story. :P

Other than that I've kept busy with various things.....

1) baseball, since my team is in the playoffs. It really does take a lot of time up since I listen to sports radio to and from work, post in a few sports message boards, watch the pregames and of course the games.

2) middle eastern history. This is a new hobby of mine but totally appropriate since I don't know much about the region my husband's from. He knows almost nothing about the US either so we're even. lol. Anyway I've been obsessed about learning about the history of Palestine right now so I've ordered a ton of books on the subject, subscribed to a few active blogs and will be renting a few relevant movies. After that I'll be doing the same for the history of Egypt starting with 1930's and on.

3) fantacizing about a new house. I really hate the problems I have with this house and so I have a new home that I'm developing in my mind by looking at different real estate sites and taking what I like from each house that is for sale. I have an old 3d home software that I'll put to work once I have it finished on paper. I'd love to build a home exactly the way I want it.

4) building a virtual nursery and looking up different baby products. I confess that I don't do this too too often because I'm superstitious but when I allow myself to do it it's wicked fun. :luv:

Of course most of this is when I'm alone since every five minutes it's "mom, can you do this" or "mom she's making faces at me!!" or "mom did you wash my 'blah blah blah'?"

:lol::lol:

1) I have been taking a Spanish class. That has been very helpful with communication between my wife and I. I already knew a lot of Spanish from college days but forgot it...this class has helped tremendously to improve my speaking skills. Communication between us is much, much better. She took two classes of English too. But, the problem is...she has no one to practice with! Here in SoFla, I can talk Spanish with many people...grocery stores, Home Depot, dentist office...everywhere!!!

2) I am working on my virtue of "paciencia." It is my worst! The thing that keeps me going is that one day we will be togehter (L) as spouses and as a family.

3) I spend a lot of time working and saving for our future. But, this process is costly in terms of money and stress. I am supporting a wife and daughter that I (L) do not get to see often enough...along with my own expenses here.

4) I try to keep busy so I can forget about everything...but, :crying: that is impossible because every waking moment, I think of my new wife 1500 miles away from me. This process SUCKS! Fortunately, I have not  turned to drinking!!!! jajajajaja

Sincerely,

Craig

I have an eBay store(and no, I'm not going to violate the TOS by posting the URL here) ;) - I mostly sell stuff that I have bought in Nepal and India, and G has been sending me some things as well - it's a fun way to make some extra cash, though eBay fees are starting to get out of hand. :(

I think you should teach a class on katmandu or hindu things or stuff like that. You seem alot smarter than some of the tofu eating yoga mat people I have met that say NAMASTE every other sentence LOL

I had a customer who was the kind of hindu that has to stop eating after a certain time and has red marks on the walls and doors.. What kind is that ( Hindu)?

Why would it be against the TOS to post the url here? If you can't post it then at least PM me with the link.... I'd love to visit. I love indian/pakistani style clothing and other items. One of my favorite websites to order clothes from is www.renukasilks.com :luv:

I've spent tiime collecting area things, pictures, brochures. Also, collecting things to help him adjust: interview techniques for jobs, how to do a US resume, driving manuals, maps of the area, state, currency converting, etc. Im also doing Ebay (we do it together) and working 7 nights a week. I have been starting to clear out the basement we will finish when he comes, but spend most of my free time with him. We are just lucky to have similar scheules and freedom to spend most days together. I work alone at night in my own delivery business so he rings, sms's and uses skype to call me. (wow...very cheap for HIM to call ME from skype... only .012 Euros) Anyways...baking cookies for him and care packages..other than that...nothing exciting
