Address Query

I am filling out the I-129F, but I am not sure how I should proceed with the address information. My situation is that I have lived together with my fiancé abroad in Cambodia for the last year. We have had a couple temporary residences, all being short-term options. I am hesitant to put my current address of only 3 months on the application. I would like to put my mother's address in the states as my permanent address (which will also be listed as our intended address). However, she moved into this address while I was attending university so I have never technically lived there for any long stretch of time.

My question is which address should I use? My current address in Cambodia, which is subject to change on very short notice. My mother's address in the States, which is stable but I have never lived out for long stretches of time and will not be listed as an address in my residential history of my g-325a. I am not listed on the mortgage or utility bills, so it would be difficult to prove that as a permanent address. I don't have any alternative in the states since we rent out the house that I grew up in and I spent my last 4 years in the states bouncing around campus.

Another address questions is in regards to my fiancé. Should I list her address as our current residence or the use her parents address? She lived there for 3 years before we moved in together.

Thank you in advance for your answers. The horrid postal system in Cambodia makes this pretty important. I would much rather use my mother's address to assure things get mailed there, but I don't want to bring on a RFE.

You need a US address with the K-1. USCIS won't sent notices and other communications abroad. It doesnt have to be an address you live at, just an address where someone can receive mail on your behalf.

Living abroad can cause some issues with being able to show support. You may want to line up a co-sponsor.

If you considered a permanent resident in the country you are currently residing, you may want to see if DCF is an option for you. Its much faster than anything that has to go through USCIS here in the States.

Thanks for the quick response Dan + Gem!

Thank you for clearing up the US address for me. As to your advice for a co-sponsor, I have a volunteer for the task. I'm not positive on when the sponsor comees into play. I would assume when you fill out the I-134. Thanks again to the wonderful community at Visa Journey.

Edit: Residency in cambodia is really not an option unfortunately. I was under the impression the direct filing was only for spouse visas but I could certainly be wrong.

Direct filing is for spousal visas. But if can qualify for it, its usually the fastest option. You may want to contact the US embassy in Cambodia to see if you can qualify.

Yes your co-sponsor would fill out the I-134.
