You are good tenants right? I am sure he doesn't want more section 8 people moving in after you leave... perhaps he'll do something.

WE pay the man 1100 dollars every month on time and he has a month and 1/2 security deposit down from us... :P

He's hired a lawyer to evict the people upstairs, but every date we're given that they are "moving".. they never do!

If its winter is it illegal to evict people? I have no idea about NH law, but I know in Canada you can't evict people around certain months of the year. If there's a family involved and children perhaps there are restrictions?

I just learned that my husband posted pictures on Flickr .... of me giving birth!!! He is SOOOO lucky he is in Canada and I am in NH. Grrrr! He swears no one has seen them, but I am skeptical, because the purpose for the Flickr posting was so he could share photos of our family with his family in Canada. I'm sure he linked them to the site.

Phil doesn't seem to be adjusting well to this depression medicine his doctor put him on. He's been complaining of dizziness since he started taking it last Wednesday. Yesterday, he even had a co-worker drive him home from work because he was too dizzy to drive. Of course, the stubborn man refuses to to call his doctor. He's determined to suffer until his appointment in two weeks.

Why is his general practictioner medicating him anyways? Is that normal here? In Bermuda, your doctor will send you to a psychiatrist if you need meds for any mental health condition.

~ Catherine

You should really get a referral to a someone. Yes your MD can prescribe the medication, but medication alone is NOT the suggested treatment for depression without therapy at the same time. I personally, and depending on your situation, would recommend a Social Worker before a Psychologist, and both of those before a Psychiatrist.

Awww, that sucks Nev :( You can keep me company online .... since hubby and baby have been gone, I am not sleeping well. It is annoying as hell, because I am actually managing well during the day ... busy with work and taking time to enjoy solitude. It is just after I fall asleep, I keep waking up, very aware that hubby is not next to me and baby is not in his crib across the room. Argh!

autumnchik, was wondering how you were doing! Have you heard from your Husband? How are he and Declan doing on their visit? Happy? :)

Hey Carla, I'm doing okay (except for the above vent). Hubby and Declan are having a ball in Canada.

And I knew I loved you for a reason .... social workers ROCK (not that I'm biased or anything). You are so right about the recommended treatment for depression being a combination of medication and talk therapy.

This thread is useless without pics!! lol I'm sure it was a mistake, maybe his mind was busy thinking about the bachelor party! Time to start planning your revenge!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

We've thought about that before, but it's almost mid-march now.. i'm sure if there are restrictions they would be lifted by now.. Winter in CT is like Jan - Feb. not much after that.. apart from the freakish 9 inches of snow on the ground.

I'm sure they are trying to keep their kids (all 12 of them) in this school district this year. There isn't much section 8 housing around where we are.. it's mostly Yale grad students and their families.. so I"m sure it's one reason they are hanging on so long up there, but I'm just totally stressed out about the noise, the lack of peace and our situation.. I need a trip to Florida..

Oh wait.. I am going TOMORROW!!!!

Ahh you lucky duck! Have a good time, E.

My co-worker and friend told me last night that my boss went to her yesterday and complained about me in confidence. She put my co-worker in such a bad spot and it was all because I forgot to schedule a meeting.

That's right folks...I forgot to schedule a meeting and that is a big effing deal around here.

So my friend, Steph, phoned me last night and was like...I can't believe she did that to me. It was incredibly uncomfortable and I wonder what her agenda is.

I'm a very good worker and have never been told otherwise. I come to work early every day and work through most of my lunches. She seems to think I'm not using my time wisely when all I do is work? (oh and a little VJ of course)

Half of me is laughing about it, the other have makes me angry. I've come to the conclusion that my boss gets a rise of talking about people in our little office and for her age, I think it's absolutely abominable. (she's 60)

Every one pray that my boss retires for me, please.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

This is sooo unprofessional Amanda! I would be livid myself. Do you have an HR department? As your boss she shouldn't be going to your coworkers about you. Perhaps speaking to someone in HR about it would help the situation.

I really hope she retires and I really hope you get her job when she does. :D

I don't actually want her job nor do I have the experience needed. I like my job, actually, for now. I have set hours and no one can force me to stay for any reason.

I probably should speak to someone in HR but you know, it's like one of those things where she can't touch me. I'm protected by my union and I've got youth on my side. Right now, because of her poor performance since July, she doesn't have a leg to stand on. They would much sooner force her to retire then can me. So I guess, I really just don't care. I'm in line for a new boss.

I really need to do something fun this weekend. My parents might be going to Elmira, NY where my brother currently is playing hockey so I might meet them up there.

Just so you guys know, as this is a proud moment for me, my brother made his AHL debut on Tuesday night with Norfolk, VA. He said they liked him and are looking to sign him for the rest of the season. He sounded very positive and liked the way things were going :)

Like Nevada said, that's really unprofessional and immature too. If your boss has an issue with you or your performance, it's her responsibility to speak to you behind close doors and voice her concerns. To bad talk you to a colleague is just not right. I hope she retires REALLY soon!

That's awesome about your brother!!
