Hi Sapphire,

I'm replying back to you here, I think that's where you meant to post:

Jill - Is it a board rule? Maybe if you got permission from the board members, they can overrule it? I don't see how 1 dog per duplex is fair at all! Or maybe there is a fee you can pay?

It is a board rule, condo association. That's what Glen is going to do, he's calling the landlord to ask if we can get special permission from the board. The dog downstairs is small and Sandy is a mini poodle, and we were willing to pay more per month too! Apparently here they charge you "rent" for your dog, if you have a pet the rent goes up. There's no harm in asking right....

Thats stupid, what if you want to move in and you have a dog and the person downstairs has a dog as well? That is a LAME rule!

ETA: Yea we had to pay a 200 non refundable pet deposit as well as 25.00 extra per month for doggie rent.

Wow - I am seriously loosing it today!!! I can't believe i posted in the wrong spot. Haha.

Anywho, my friend once has that happen (she actually bought the townhouse) and they had 2 dogs that were too big by the rules, and the board voted that it would be okay as long as they stayed on a leash at all time when outside.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.... my husband told her that we are looking at a mini poodle barely over 10 lbs, and the dog downstairs is small too.... he asked if there is anything she can do and talk to the board.... she said she is going to discuss and see if they can make an exception for us, fingers crossed.... at least she's trying to help us out! But in the end it's the board's decision.

I hope they'll help you guys out! Those two dogs barely make up the 35 pound maximum! There may be 2 dogs in the duplex, but they make up one dog! :) My fingers are crossed for you guys.

 yes!

Aw Jill, my fingers are crossed for you as I know how bad you wanted a doggie friend! I hope it all works out my love!

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Well then I have a bit of good news! My little puppy is SO much better now that we've moved down here to be with my husband. I guess she just needed a daddy! :) She still has separation anxiety but it's not nearly as bad as before when she actually managed to pull up lino and carpet while home alone! (This is a 7 pound shih tzu we're talking about here!)

Yes, I do need to vent big time!!

I just got my Quebec government stimulus package. They re-assesed my last 3 years income taxes and sent me a huge bill. Now I have to go back, dig up my records and try to challenge these assesments which will so much fun ..... like I have nothing else to do.

I am so sick and tired of those damn leaches. It's impossible to get ahead these days and they make damn sure you can't. I have been screwed over so many times by the damn messed up system here.

The Quebec government spends money on stupid ads about the underground economy but at the same time they helped create it. The politicians here are dillusional.

Piss on em.

Here's my vent for the day !

About a month ago, one of my friends got his car towed because he apparently parked his car on the wrong side of the street when there was "no parking" signs for snow removal. He insisted on the fact that he checked for the "no parking" signs when he parked his car and there was none ! Next morning his car was missing. So he called the police and indeed they towed his car. The police officer told him that this year, the law apparently changed in Montreal allowing them to put the signs 3 hours before the actual towing  .. freaking ridiculous of them to do something like that ! i mean how the hell do they expect people to check the street during the night in case they decide to put the freaking signs ??? HELLO people are sleeping at night !!!

So anyway he had to pay 82$ to get his car back !

A few days after that event, when I was coming back home from work around 12:30am (I work second shift, 3pm till 11:30pm), I saw the city guys putting the "no parking" signs .. ####### ??? I mean putting the signs at 12:30am for a snow removal starting at 7:30 am ? It sure does not make any sense at all !!! so I parked my car on another street. Well, next morning, I hear the towing trucks sirens, so I get out of bed and go check at the window. A LOT of cars where still parked on the street .. of course nobody realized since the signs where not there when they parked their cars the day before ! Turned out they towed everyone !!! the whole freaking street !

So yesterday I parked my car (still around 12:30am) and as usual made sure there was NO "no parking" signs on the street. Indeed there was none.. Woke up this morning around 8:00am and checked by the window and ... my car was missing !!

Checked on the street and found my car a little bit farther on the the same street but on the other side with a nice ticket of 92$.

I mean ####### Montreal, found a new way to steal people's hard earned money ??? :ranting:

It's god damned snowing in Vancouver. What is this... every other part of Canada??

No kidding. I'm tired of all this snow. If I had wanted snow, I'd have moved to Alberta or Ontario!

My in-laws told me that there hasn't been this much snow in BC for about 60 years.
