Not that it will make you feel any better, Misty, but I had a similar experience back in 2001 with Expedia. What I learned from that is to go directly to the source and always warn people away from them. Booo Expedia.

Sorry about expedia!! One can always call up your credit card and ask them to increase ur maximum credit amount on the credit card. One can also ask them to decrease it.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I can't feckin' believe this.

RFE for an I-693 - which means that at the least, they want me to do a TB skin test, and at the most, a full medical exam because of that dumb POE officer mishap.

*facedesks repeatedly*

Huh? Did you not include a I-693 with your AOS package? And what's this about a TB skin test? I didn't have one. Is this new?

You'd think what with all the people who work without one...duh...the department that creates SSN would come to your home, take your info, and then hand deliver it to you so that you can work and pay start paying taxes to pay off the exorbitant debt of war ASAP. :P

What is wrong with them???

Perhaps it's a president who calls himself a Christian but behaves like the Romans??? In any event I support Bush's war of terror.

A weather vent: A Monday morning drowning in blowing snow and I am dreaming about palm trees.

It is times like this that I wonder why humans live in Wintery places...

...to help warm up the planet quicker with all the heat escaping from trying to heat our homes? Hmmmm...

I hope you are all well who are impacted with this fluffy stuff.

My fiancé got rerouted from Montreal to Dallas to Chicago last night; and the snow had not even begun here yet.

A 2 hour trip turned into a 9 hours.

Thanks Mumsie for your response.

I noticed how my grammar and typing goes to pot when I touch on something I am so polarized about. Ha!

And I love your new avatar. A kitty with a beer and what else??

Funny.

No, I did include an I-693A with my AOS package - K visas are exempt from getting a CS-certified medical exam if they've had their panel physician medical exam within the year.

Bee came home from Hanukkah shopping to a very frustrated, sobbing wife. I feel like I'm paying dearly for how hassle-free my K1 visa process went. I just can't believe how far the ramifications of one, stupid POE officer are stretching :(

How can an employer treat employees with so much disrespect.

#1 you don't pay them on time

#2 you don't keep them up to date daily with the progress that's being made trying to secure funding for payroll and in fact they have to chase YOU to get info on when payroll will be paid

#3 you EXPECT/DEMAND employee loyalty without 1 & 2 being met

Ugh.. yeah.. I don't understand this at all, and it's beginning to really bother me. I can feel myself walking out the door very quickly (but not before i get my payroll $$).
