Ok here is my vent, why am not rich instead of good looking ha ha ha. I wish I could fly to San Diego this weekend as my oldest son is going to be there for the US Open (he is working it). Damn it all I can't afford to go there oh well another time perhaps GRRRRRR.

Steal a car and drive there, baby.

Or bid cheaply on priceline.

Worked for me....

:star:

I have a vent!

We moved into a new apartment end of April and the complex messed up all our paperwork. So 10 days ago they tell us we owe them $500 more for deposits/cleaning etc etc bla bla. So I write them a check. Time goes by and I get an angry follow up call. Apparently they lost the check and demanded payment THAT DAY. Why do I get penalized for other people's idiocy and then I feel guilty?

I am beyond the red line tired of human beings being unreliable, unfriendly and ... well so shitty.

Welcome to the monkey house. Sigh...

:star:

Just as long as you can fling your feces at the super...

BTW, Spirit what kind of car were you thinking of taking for a midnight ride? :lol:Officer I was just doing my best imitation of Paul Revere, honest... :innocent:

I was feeling more like an Anne Bonny...except on dry land for this particular trek.

Arrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What type? Hmmmmm...how about this: clicky!

B)

Good choice. There's a dealership that sells Aston-Martins, Ferraris and Maseratis off Highway 41 (North Skokie Highway) just outside of Lake Forest. The Police will figure the Bears are having training camp at Lake Forest College and one of the players is out having fun. It's only 5-10 minutes to the Wisconsin state line, even less if you drive at 180 mph.

Damn u storm!!! Power is out at my place, and I'm suppose to sign up for Fall Nursing classes at 10 am!! I'm typing away from a Starbucks!! I think I saw Len walk in a few minutes ago,lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Spirit if only it were that easy. I already have a car but gas from one coast to the other no thanks, priceline would be better I am sure lol. Unfortunately it is not to be right now, but I will call him and see how he is liking it there, and who knows if I win the lottery on Friday night I will definately fly over there for a few days.

Yes I see that. Hubby was supposed to work his 2nd job outside working on a fence tonight and I was going to help him, but I am really hoping it does rain before 3:30 because it is too damn hot to be working outside.

I am sorry you can't see your son. :( But look at it this way.... he'd be working, anyway, so you wouldn't get to spend much time with him. Therefore you can save your money for spending quality time. :)

FRICK!!!! Punished for being a Canadian, lol!! So today at 10 am was registration for my Fall Nursing classes/clinics!! And as soon as they open the links online at 10 am, its a mad dash for everyone to pick what they want!! I was al raring to go, classes/clinicals were in my "shopping basket" just had to keep clicking away once the secretary unlocked it!! NOT, i see others are getting the OK message, but not me--keeps stating their is a hold on my acct!! So I rush to the secretary, and she checks my acct, and yeppers there it is: out of immigration status!!" I had not given them my new Greencard info!! OUCH!! so by the time i rushed down to student services and back tothe computer to sign up, my desired class times were GONE!! RRRRRRRRRR I stil managed an ok schedule, but not the 1 I wanted. And I guess it is partially my fault, that I didnt pass on my new greencard info, BUT we are forced each semester to see our advisor , who is suppose to catch these problems, and my greencard would have expired back in 2007. Oh well, whats done is done. Hopefully people wil switch to other clinicals/labs, so i can do a swap!!

and at 1300, still had no power, so bck here with Len at Starbucks!! She sure is 1 starbucks fanatic!!

I absolutely hated the mad rush to get in the section/class you wanted only to find out that it filled up in the first five seconds. Lectures were never a problem but labs and tutorials, stupid buggers! Try posting on the bulletin board or talking to the course professors and explain your situation, sometimes they'll allow you to transfer to their section. Good luck.

One more thing Flames, I hope you signed up for a course in self-preservation because if my dear Sister Len shows up, you're going to need it.

Unfortunately, she did not."

That was one of the AWFUL things about uni. The first year of university it was still TELEPHONE registration AND it was long distance for me to call Ottawa from Kitchener. I was on the phone long distance for days..(luckily I worked for the government and they got all the charges and nothing was ever said! haha) When we got the online system though it was still the same. Too many people at once overloading the system, it system crashing, or classes being full. It was always a struggle.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard
