I've been working for the past 6 years part time at a grocery store deli making nothing!!!

I just got hired this morning by Lowe's Canada as head cashier. I'll be making like 7 dollars more an hour!!!! :thumbs:

WOO

I needed this. I need to save for my future with Nick and this is awesome.

The only sad part is that Nick is coming for Christmas and I'll have to work while he's here but I had to look at the big picture. :unsure:

Requested EAD Expedite: 11-12-2008

EAD Card production ordered: 11-12-2008 changed to 11/17/2008 Why? (I hope it doesn't change every week!)

Received AP: 11/17/2008

Received EAD: 11/22/08 (Praise God!!)

AOS RFE: 1/29/2009

AOS Approved: 3/24/2009

Called USCIS 4/1/2009 told no status change and case not yet reviewed from RFE request.

Received green card: 4/3/2009

Congrats on the new job!! I have always had to work through Christmas and New Years every year while my husband is visiting. It sucks, but the money is always good!!

Aug/2001: We met, started dating long distance style and lots of weekend sleepovers!!!

May 16/2004: Married, and still doing weekend sleepovers

Mar 13/2006: Sent off I-130

Mar 28/2006: Rec'vd NOA1

July 7/2006: Rec'vd NOA2

Aug 29/2006: Rec'vd IV Bill

Sep 12-2006: Pay IV Bill

Mar 30/2007: Case Completed at NVC

Jul 18/2007: Case left NVC on way to Montreal

Aug 31/2007: Rec'vd 1st interview letter (the one they DIDN'T send me, due to NVC having my address tagged as bad---this one was hubby's that I got 5 weeks late.)

Aug 9/2007 : 1st Interview Date (of course I missed it)

Sep 15/2007: Rec'vd 2nd interview letter

Sep 26/2007: Medical Appt booked

Oct 5/2007: 2nd Interview scheduled in Montreal

Oct 5/2007: Approved!!!!!!!

Oct 11/2007: Recv'd Visa in hand after hearing doorbell ring

Oct 21/2007: Activated visa

Nov 20/2007: Applied for SSN because it wasn't done for me... UGH!!!

Dec 03/2007: Received SSN in mail... YAHOO!

Apr 11/2008: GC finally arrived

October 2006 - I-129F sent

10/24/2007 - INTERVIEW DATE!!!!!....APPROVED!!

10/30/2007 - Visa in hand!

AOS Timeline:

1/30/08 - Sent AOS pkg Priority Mail with USPS

3/12/08 - Biometrics taken

3/29/08 - EAD and AP in hand for me and my son

5/21/08 - Email-GC on its way!...RFE for my son's application

5/27/08 - GC arrives!!!

7/02/08 - Sons GC arrives!!!

ROC TIMELINE

3/23/10 - ROC sent!

3/29/10 - NOA1

4/22/10 - Biometrics Appt for me and my son

6/30/10 - Email saying card production ordered for me and my son

7/6/10 - Letter in the mail saying cards will arrive within 60 days

7/10/10 - Both cards received!

Congratulations :thumbs: That is a great jump in salary. We just had a raise last summer and I only got about 3 dollars more. :(

Congratulations on the new job and increased pay! :)

Both my fiance and I have worked while we visited each other in our respective countries - unfortunately that just comes with the territory. Enjoy what time you have with each other, and focus on the end of the road!

Congratulations!

Does being head cashier mean you get to boss other people around?

I work while my fiance visits, too. Granted, I have a very flexible job, but I do want to be able to have time off to go to the consulate with him for the interview, help him move, take a honeymoon after our wedding reception, and visit him in the meantime.

Congrats on the new job and pay increase .... I spent a month in Chicago with my fiance in March. He had to work and while he was at work, my daughter and I toured the area. Its tough but as Nini said...look towards the end of the road and what will be waiting there on arrival.

April 13, 2009 - Welcome to the USA letter rec'd. PRC to be rec'd within 3 weeks.

April 16, 2009 - 2 yr GC rec'd in mail.

March 2, 2011 - Mailed in I-751 to CSC

March 4, 2011 - I-751 delivered to CSC

March 4, 2011 - NOA issued

March 12, 2011 - NOA received

April 14, 2011 - BIO Appt 5/6/11

May 6, 2011 - BIO done in 10 minutes...no re-takes this time :)

June 27, 2011 - Email rec'd "Status - Approved"

July 1, 2011 - 10 yr GC arrived

Yes, it is very very exciting!!!

Nick said he'll just sleep in and hang out with my cats while I'm at work...lol

I am in charge of the cashiers so I guess yes, I could crack the whip a bit..LOL
