Since you are outside of the six month processing time, have you sought a congressional inquiry?

We were notified last March 15 that our file was being transferred to the local office. We've had 3 infopass appointments, made 3 inqueries to our Senator's office since and all we've gotten is, "your file is here and still pending". We were told to wait 180 days and now its way beyond that already.

Is it true though that when you do an inquiry either via congress or senate, that they are suppose to help you find out what is causing the file to be held up or atleast let you know if there is any problem whatsoever. The stupid part about it is, they just say it's pending. We know that already, but we want to know why it's pending. Does authorizing them in accordance to Privacy Act help them get info of your case at all?

This is weird because you are WAY out of your processing time, have you thought about hiring an attorney? Have you tried the RFE trick to actually get a hold of someone at the Service center, what did info pass say? Have you had any touches at all? Do you even know if you have a case officer yet and have you had any touches on your case at all?

We do have a lawyer but not much she can do. No RFE trick will work since there is no RFE and I've spoken to someone at USCIS and all she could say was, we can make a service inquiry. Last touch was March 15..According to infopass, no touches will reflect on my online account once it is transferred to a local office. What else did they say...hmm...well, not much except that it is pending. We questioned them about the 180 days USCIS hotline told us, they said thats not true and expect it to be longer. Great isn't it? We really don't know what to do next. We are not expecting a decision but atleast to just know what the heck the hold up is all about... :(

Hello Bungeegirl

I'm a K-3 filer but I see your case is at CSC. When I called USCIS, an immigration officer told me that the only way I could contact CSC would be by fax.. she gave me the fax # (she also advised me to be sure to include my case # and inquiry) but for the life of me.. I cant find it now :( ..But you can call them and get that number. Perhaps you've already tried this..I dont know. I can't even imagine your frustration.. you both are in my prayers.

The odd part about this isn't the long time, its the fact that your case was transferred to a local office. That's probably why your NOA2 is delayed since it is no longer at CSC. Any idea why that transfer happened?

Visa took too long, grew apart and withdrew visa after six months.

I didn't have an RFE either, but I called to see if I had one by going through the RFE line which put me in tuoch with CSC, they were finally able to tell me something other than the customer service line. You should call, go through the RFE line and tell them you are concerned an RFE was issued and never received. If you actually get a hold of CSC they will probably flag your case about this since it took so long.

I agree with that. It is really odd that they transfered to your package to a local office. During the K1 process, your package needs to be processed at CSC and then sent to NVC. No local office involved. Once you enter the US and marry, you need to deal with the local office. Other than that, you don't deal with the local office. I hope that your package won't be lost. I really think that you should call up and make sure that your package is not lost and ask why it was transfered. It does not make any sense. And, on the website of USCIS, now at CSC, they are processing the oldest application sent on April 12th. Your package was sent in January. It should be completed now. I see some people experienced that their packages were lost.
