FYI........... Egypt air prices are good from January 18th on..for Cairo Airport from New York...I found them on several sites for under $850.00 round trip:

Also, to GET to New York....I use JetBlue for only $49.00 oe way from Virginia. Its awesome rates....Just wanted to let you guys know in case anyone NEEDS one of those "to get through this" trips.

I hope your trip goes soo well...Im going back for our interview, whenever that may be. I hope if we get our NOA2's in the next 2-3 weeks...then 2 weeks or so at NVC...mid november Cairo has it...I'll be emailing Cairo with my new case number and request interview date with packet 3.

...for anyone who doesn't celebrate christmas...december 24th is an amazing time to travel!! =) the ticket's a lot cheaper and everything goes really fast and smoothly...cuz everyone's busy celebrating...on the plane that i was on, everyone had their own row basically..haha..

Would you believe that christmas eve this year is good prices and seems to be slow too!?! Since christmas eve is a monday and most offices are closed, anyone with a desk job should expect to have off starting the Friday before.

My SO found a ticket christmas eve for under $800 on egyptair going through NY.

Im heading out end of January...but it depends on how fast NVC gets our petition out and how fast the Embassy is in getting our interview scheduled.....If it seems we will wait past February..Im heading out mid January..... :dance:

Thats fair rates....Looks like February now for me. Depends on how fast Cairo schedules our interview. Our petition should reach Cairo the end of this coming week...so Im hoping we can have packet 3 back before the end of December to get a fast interview. I did email them (just in case they do this) asking for a provisional file with our case number, to send packet 3 out and to schedule our interview...we'll see what happens...chances are they'll get petition and schdule before they ever get to our email...LOL....

I'm so jealous of those of you who get to go to Egypt now!!! I'm stuck without seeing him until he gets his visa inshalla and who the hell knows when that will be. We are though thinking of meeting up in a different country if we absolutely can't take it anymore. That way it won't be so long of a trip for me and maybe I'll bring the kids if it's Italy or France. Would be educational for them and would make a great April vacation trip. Again I hope we don't have to but if we do then that is definitely our next plan.

When I was there Dec/Jan it was cold but more like fall here cold. The thing that made it bad was that there seemed to be hardly any places with heat. I can handle below zero weather even if I know that one I get to my destination there will be heat but without heat it seems so much worse than it is. I guess most people there can't justify buying heat since it's only a month or two of cold.

I was in Alex last Feb too, in an apartment right across the street from the sea. Damn it was cold! My blow dryer blew out when I was there so when I would wash my hair I had to go outside on the balcony and sit in the sun for warmth and to dry my hair. Really the only time I was warm was when I was in the bed with 3 blankets and in my flannel two piece p.j.s. I told my honey if I have to go back in March I will need some heat. lol

I was in egypt last january...and during the day, i lovedddd it!!! because i was able to walk around without a coat and it was nice to see the pyramids and stuff without meltinggg..haha...but at night, it was a different story....but it was only at night...so if anyone's visiting during the winter for the first time, i suggest taking extra socks and very warm pjs..enjoy guyssss!!!! i wanna go soooo bad!!!
