Do you know for sure it was delivered to USCIS.

I think you should call and check to get the receipt number at least.

Hello GreenTea!!

Did you send your petition package with tracking so that you could tell when/if it was received? This is important. Also, when you sent your petition into USCIS, did you remit a check as recommended by this forum? If so, (and it has been cashed) you can get your number from the back of the check. Once you have this number, you can sign up for automatic updates from CRIS at USCIS.

Unfortunately, your petition seems to have been sent at the time when many others were sent to beat the price increase. As such, there is a backlog of cases waiting for check cashing and assignment of the numbers. So, there are many others waiting for their NOA-1's also...you are in a large boatful of people. Calling USCIS has very limited success without your case number. You will receive only the standard answers! "Wait 30 days and call back, wait 60 days or your case is still within our processing timetables...just wait patiently like everyone else."

It would be helpful to all of us if you would fill out your timeline. I know you do not have much information at this point...but, you do know when you sent your package...right? Good luck on your VISA Journey...have patience (lots of it) as your time will come. The longest wait is between NOA-1 and NOA-2...about 4 - 6 months on average. Read the guides to your particular visa and start to get your next set of papers ready so that there is NO DELAY! Good luck and God Bless!

Sincerely,

Craig

According to the CIS Ombudsman confrence call last week, they are aware of the serious rcpt'ing delay. They have taken on additional staff and are working overtime to make sure that everyone gets their case rcpt'd, checks cashed, and NOA1's printing by the end of the month. Im sorry you're having to wait this long, just for the NOA1. I know how difficult it is to wait on the NOA2 and this delay doesnt make it any easier, Im sure. As mentioned above, try calling USCIS. The OMbusdman was supposed to have updated the call centers to make sure they are prepared to handle the influx of calls concerning late rcpts. You may have some luck.

As others have said, if they've already cashed your check, you can register on their website to check for any news/updates using your case number on the back of the check. If you've already done that, then you're just waiting like the rest of us. Some people, like myself, got our NOA1's after waiting more than 45 days and calling to tell them it wasn't received, while others have never received the NOA1 at all. If you look through the various forums, you'll see that many people never received the NOA1, but were still approved. The most important doument for you to wait for is the NOA2 and they are still working on those of us who filed in May.

Hope this helps :)

This is one of the question that might peertain to your your case:

Q : How do I find out if my application is a part of the receipting delay?

USCIS has developed a web page at http://www.uscis.gov/receiptingtimes specifically to address any receipt delay concerns. This page provides general information about your application type. In addition, USCIS representatives are available at the National Customer Service Center (1-800-375-5283) to assist callers with general information about the process.
