Okay my VJ friends, Can a Visa be picked up instead of mailed? Since my lady will be in Manila after the ainterview date of Nov 5, I was wondering if she could just pick it up instead on snail mail? This question I have not read or seen addressed in JV, so I am waiting for the repiles.

Blessing,

Judah

I think you can arrange to pick up the visa. It seems to me others have done so. Good luck

USEM COs sometimes allow peeps to pick up visas. Most of the time they don't.

Better chance if the fiance attends the interview.

As Haole said there is a better chance if the fiance is with the fiancee from the reading I have done over the last few months. If you cannot be there I recommend at least you write a letter to give to her to give to embassy official at the very end of the interview requesting them to allow her to pick up the VISA there and some justification as to why.

Here is a post from someone who was successful in picking hers up.

Good luck.

Yes it can. My asawa picked her's up at the embassy (she was in Hong Kong), because we had her plane scheduled to leave two days after the final interview.

We have been married 18 months, and I've never been so happy. Good luck to you brother!

Anybody know the answer for the Lima, Peru, embassy? I've read in the embassy reviews that they have been sent via DHL. But a friend of mine living in the US, originally from Peru, thought that the visa could be picked up later the same day of the interview.
