Hey all,

Just wanted to know if anyone out there knows what kind of fee (if any) and how much I will have to pay when I go to Montreal for my interview. I have been reading some interview reviews and in there some people mention "going up to pay the fee"...can anyone shed some light on this for me. Just want to be prepared finacially if need be.

We are pursuing the IR-1 in Montreal as a DCF. They indicated in packet 3 I received today that "on interview day, please be prepared to pay the immigrant visa fee for each applicant. This is currently $380.00, payalbe by cash or by Vica or Mastercard". They also inicate in can be paid in Canadian dollars at their current exchange rate.

Hi,

Yes you are right, you will have to pay that at the consulate. Schmelle did not DCF so she has already paid that to NVC with her DS-230 submittal.

Some of the confusion has to with the difference in filing as a DCF or through the NVC.

If filing at the NVC you submit a payment to them when you fill out the DS-230.

But when filing DCF, you send your DS-230 back to the consulate with no payment and then make the full payment for everything (form, fingerprints etc) when you go for your interview ($380 USD). Hope that helps.
