Hey all! I have quite a question here for anyone who has gone through the CFO process.

Basically, my fiance has her K1 Visa now as well as her passport but she told me she found out beforehand that she was supposed to have done this CFO stuff BEFORE issuance of her passport.

My question is--is this true or not?

My fiance has both her K1 and Passport in hand but has yet to do any of this CFO process. Can she still do it all even with an already-issued passport? If so--will she be required to do anything different? This is an urgent question I need answered. Thanks!

Also, is there a certain amount of time before my fiance's flight that she must have her passport stamped from the CFO or can she leave at any time? For instance--she's coming to the US in late January and planning the CFO for next month.

She can do the CFO seminar after she has her visa. she will do the seminar at PRISM across from the De Salle University. it takes a few hours costs 250 pesos. then after its done she has to have her passport stamped at the CFO office on quirino. she must have this stamp in her passport for her to get on a plane at the airport.

i think the stamp fee is 400 pesos.

Per Republic Act 8239 and Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Order 28-94, Filipinos proceeding abroad as fiancé(e)s and spouses of foreign nationals are required to attend the CFO's guidance and counseling programs as a pre-requisite to the issuance of passports.

But that is only applicable if the applicant will say that she's on a K-visa and being petitioned or for those who are married to Foreign nationals and using the husband's family name and have a "foreign sounding names"-> then DFA personels will require the applicant to attend the CFO seminar first before they can issue the passport. But if you apply for a passport just for "travel" purposes, then they will not require you to attend the CFO Seminar.

Fiance and Spouses of Foreign Nationals can attend the Seminar/Guidance Counseling before or after the visa has been issued. Since she already have her visa, she can attend the Seminar at PRISM-MANILA or at SMEF-COWS in Quezon City to get the Yellow Certificate (p250.00) then she can have the stamp and green Certificate at CFO-Quirino Avenue (Manila) = p400.00 with the handbook. She can do it earlier or even a day before her departure.

There is no problem to take the CFO class after she already has her passport and /or visa.

There is no waiting period required before she can leave the country after she completes her CFO certification and gets the CFO stamp in in her passport.

Claudeth did her CFO training the day before she left to come here. They won't let the beneficiary on an international flight without the CFO stamp.
