Hi,

Our stuff has been sent to the NVC, but I want to call after two weeks and ask them what the status is. I really think calling helped push our NAO2 through. Does anyone know the number to call? I dont just call the service center do I? And, I know this sounds stupid, our cases still updated online at this point, that is, after leaving the service center? Im just trying to figure out how to keep track of our case after receiving the NAO2. Thanks--Amye

The number to the NVC is 603-334-0700.

The NOA2 states that the USCIS has completed all action; further inquiries should be directed to the NVC.

We have the same NOA2 date....I haven't tried calling yet because I think its still a little too early.

Good luck to you & I hope this helps!

I called about 5 days after my approval date. It wasn't in yet, but I called 2 days later and it was already off to the consulate  Hope your cases both go fast. Good luck.

The service center is who is processing your petition at the moment, not the NVC.

Why would they call the service center?

Why would they call the service center?

Never mind, misread their timeline

Calling did NOT help push through your NOA2. The USCIS couldn't care less that you called. Calling the consulate will have exactly the same effect.

Email the consulate and reference your case number from the NVC and ask if it is in the system. With Kiev I usually got an answer in 48 hours or less. Download the packet 3 from the consulate website and get your interview documents ready now, do not wait for them to mail it. Your fiance(e) can get their medical exam now, you have your NVC case number, that is all you need for the medical. As SOON as they say the case is in their system, call for an interview appointment. Do not worry IF all your documents are in order when you call, they WILL be by the time of the appointment.

Do NOT call an attorney.

Calling them (USCIS) will only make YOU crazy. The paid-by-the-pound affirmative action employee that tears themselves away from a computer game to answer your call will only give you confusing and conflicting answers each time and will tell you it will be "6 months". This is why you think calling helped. They told you "6 months" and it happened sooner...ergo...calling helped. Nope, sorry. The officer that processed your file never even knew you called. In fact, your call never even went to the place that processed your file. I live within sight of the VSC and my friend's wife works there, believe me, they are WELL insulated from the pesky taxpayers. Unless your congressman made an inquiry, they never knew you existed except on paper and it took them, maybe, 15 minutes to adjudicate your file (provided you sent everything and didn't get an RFE) All that other time it was sitting in a pile.
