Nice to meet you everyone.

I am new to VJ, so I am not quite sure on how to utilize all those wonderful tools on VJ....

I hope to learn them quickly.

Anyway, I am another October filer to CSC.

My fiancee and I mailed our I-129F on October 8, 2007.

Our NOA1 arrived on Oct 19. (They received our application on Oct 9 according to USPS though...)

NOA1 stated that they received out application on Oct. 18....Oh well....

The first touch to our case occured on Oct 24.

Then guess what...... Nothing happened since then......

Since We saw that lots of November filers were being approved, we got really really upset and

worried at the same time; was our application lost????

So, my fiancee called USCIS on March 24 and was finally connected to an immigration officer.

Well, guess what we found out.... Our application was left somewhere.... it was not assigned to an

officer yet.... Damit!!!!!!!! The officer my fiancee talked to on the phone was very nice, so she promised

that she would personally bring our application to where it needed to go. Thanks her so much.

So, our account was updated on Oct 25 after a long time of no action.

Well, we have not heard anything from them yet... No Approval, No Ref, nothing....

I hope we do not receive REF after 5 and half years of wait....

On April 14, it will reach 180days since we received our NOA1.... Craziness....

I was in the U.S. as a university student for 5 years before.... and one of my best friends is

having her wedding ceremony in August. I was asked to be bride's maid and am really looking

forward to doing that..... I hope they do not ruin it.......

So, anyway, I hope all October filers get approved soon.

Welcome, Nao! The California Service Center filers are now seeing some approvals so hopefully you will get through soon. Your NOA1 date should still be the priority date on your application since it was at the CSC, so it shouldn't be too long now, with luck. Japan is known for highly efficient visa services once it gets to the consular stage, you should get an interview very quickly!

We're planning an August wedding too. Worse thing that happens is you come to the US as a visitor for your friend's wedding, but it's still highly likely you'll have your visa in hand by then even if you do get a RFE. よい運! Kouun wo inorimasu!

Hello Karvy02 and K&W.

Karvy02: It is kind of early, but Congratulations on your wedding in August. I think it was a long way till you get to this point. You totally deserve a wonderful wedding with lots of smiles, joy and happiness. I am really really happy for you. :star:

K&W: Yea... I was really mad and down first, but I feel much relieved now because of all the support VJ members such as you give me. Thanks :star:

Thank you so much for your message. I feel a lot, seriously much much much better about my situation now because I feel like I got people on my back now :star: I was feeling so down for the past two to three weeks because of this visa situation... But, I am back now with much positivity. Thank you so much.

It is great to hear that CSC filers are seeing some more approvals. And... I checked our account just now and found out that our case was touched today  Since they have 8 more hours before they close today, there can be a possibility that our case gets approved. PLEASE!!!! PLEASE!!! PLEASE approve it!!! PLEASE:dance:

Well, that can be because my fiance called USCIS yesterday.... Well, I try not to expect too much, but stay positive and sleep well tonight. It is still a progress  So, I am really happy :star:

I am also glad to know that it takes only about 5 weeks to receive visa once I receive packet3. Also, Japan has highly efficient visa services. Yes!! Thank you, Karvy02 and K&W, for the info. I cannot wait to get visa in my hand.

I did not know that I can visit US while waiting for my visa approval. Then, I can make it to my friend's wedding  Thank you. Now, I really feel relieved. It was one of my biggest concerns. I think my best friend will also be really happy to hear that.

I will let you know as soon as I get some update from USCIS.

Thanks a lot :star:

Timeline

I know of several persons on this site that have seen "touches" on their accounts on Saturdays and Sundays. I, personally, have had a touch on Sunday, Feb 24, 2008.

Thanks Tars for your reply. :star:

I am glad to know that people including yourself have seen updates on weekends.

Well, at VSC, some of Feb filers have already gotten their applications approved at this point....

So, CSC had better work on weekends.

Klaire & Martin, I don't know for sure, but I don't think so. Unless maybe the local office for Orange County is in the same building, but even then, probably not. Unfortunately.
