Hey people!

So I've been really reading all the info needed to file for the K-1 ourselves....(we were thinking of hiring a lawyer but I think we can do it on our own)

Anyway...

Just two questions:

On the I-129F application it asks the address the fiance (me) will be living in the states...Problem:

My honey still lives with his folks..we are planning on filing within the next few months and he doesn't and won't have his own place until well after we file...

What address do we put down here??? His parents???

Also how does Nick find out his G-28 ID Number? It asks for it at the bottom of the form.

Thanks!

~Laura

Hi Laura,

Welcome! I'm not a K visa filer but I do believe the G-28 number would be filled out by a lawyer if you were using one. You should use his parents address, you can always give them a change of address later if you want to.

Good luck!

There's nothing wrong with using parents address. You may want to use it as a home base, but obviously change it IF you move. You just go online, change the address and a week later the center will mail you a notice saying they changed the address for you. Not a big deal.

Don't worry about the parents' address - my fiance used his parents' address (since he's still living at home right now) and there wasn't a problem.

Nini - Vancouver BC, Canada (she's the one who does the forum thing)

Bee - Devon PA, USA (he's the one who gave her the shiny ring)

Getting our sanity tested by bureaucracy since 2007.
