You know, I could also go for a warm and fresh sticky toffee pudding with custard.

And, Dev, I would pay $6.50 for Branston if they sold it in my supermarket! Luckily, I am seeing the man next week and he's bringing me a few jars AND some battenburg cakes!! So much to be excited for - all my favorite British things!

Tesco here is know as Fresh and Easy, its starting in So California. They are not going to have a lot of 'British' foods.

I was checking the site, but they don't open til November. Damnit.

I could totally send you some - they also have that weird mint sauce & that weird mustard stuff too (Chow Chow maybe?). Let me know next time!

I need a UK person to send me M&S Cheese Crispies. Hubby's sis is useless for getting them. She PROMISED me twice to get them since Xmas last year, nada. And his old flatmate was just over & he couldn't find them for me. There are like 1.99 & in a square box, cheese wafer type things. I would pay someone gladly to ship me 10 boxes. Anyone in the UK help a girl out???

Thanks for the offer Dev!

Well, I could go to Canada and get some Branston. I found some in a little British shop in Niagara-on-the-Lake. But its an hour drive, a $3.50 toll and $6.95 a jar. Their prices are astonishing! $1.89 for a Crunchie! But on the odd occasions where I do make it there, I fork over the cash somewhat willingly!

You're certainly not allowed to bring any meats with you, I'm sure that fish is included in that aswell.

Not a Mackerel fan myself, but I do like smoked fish! You should be able to find smoked fish in Atlanta somewhere.

I really like smoked trout or smoked salmon.

But other fishes are good too. Smoked Rock fish.. yummy

Great with crackers and a little cream cheese!

Try a good fish market. Perhaps a farmers market......

My parents are coming back from visiting my sister in Yorkshire tomorrow. They're bringing me back:
  • Cadbury's
  • Yorkshire Gold tea
  • Harrod's ginger biscuits
  • Weetabix golden minis
mmmmmmmm

Mmmmm, proper ginger biscuits... I've never had Harrod's ones (well, I have, but they came from various Christmas hampers at least 15 years ago - they might be a bit different now!), but good, posh ginger biscuits ('specially ones with thick dark chocolate all over them) might possibly be my favouritest things EVER.

2005 - We met

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png

I was at my local Shaws tonight and they have expanded their range of brit foods. Weetabix, Grossman's sauces and soups, loads of different marmalades and jams, chunky kit kats, wine gums, loads of biscuits, and all the usual range they have of chocolate, pickles and stuff. It was quite impressive! Considering I am one of only two brits in a town of 8,000 I guess someone must be buying that stuff.

What did I buy? Nowt. After nearly 4 years of living here I guess I've weaned myself off that stuff and realized it really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. Not that I buy any other muck in place of it either though. If I did want to eat #######, it would be the Brit stuff all the way.

Wes informed me before we married there are only two foods from the UK he can't live without - HP Sauce and Branston Pickle.

HP Sauce I can understand. Branston Pickle looks and smells like brown snot. We actually love to wave the jar under the nose of unsuspecting teenagers for their reaction.

I'm fond of Digestives and WagonWheels.

Oh.........we must have tea. Numbarrie or Bewley's. Box-car loads in fact. And that's MY requirement. American tea is floor sweepings.
