Hey just wondering if you've been denied travel through a POE before and you have an I-129 in process, would it jeopordize or be a risk to travel to the US?

Had to start all over again.

They are usually very suspicious of a person going through the K1 process to take a trip to the US, as they're already stating their intent to stay there after the process is through, and they think the person is trying to immigrate before the end of the process.

Some people had no problems though.

Depends on why you were bounced at the POE and why you are returning.

to be Denied entry will have no effect on your K1 process, you will at some point in the visa process have a chance to explain a denied entry as the question does come up on 1 of the forms!! you can be denied entry if you try to visit, you might want to take a look around VJ there are lots of post about this subject...........Happy reading

I don't think they even know your K1 status when you are at the POE for a visit, btw. I went a few weeks ago through Newark. Very friendly guy. Asked my purpose of travel (vacation) stamped, photo, prints, 'have a good vacation Lottie'.

If they say 'what is your reason for travel' just say 'vacation' (true). The less details you give the less they have to pick on. In my opinion so long as you tell the truth and embelish as little as possible there shouldn't be a problem (unless you've spent too much time in the US in the past 12 months).

Did not have a return ticket so they thought my intent was to abandon

If you were refused entry for immigrant intent, then clearly that will not be an issue for a K-1 visa, as you are stating your intent to immigrate.

As the others say, reports here are consistant. If you were merely refused entry for immigrant intent, that will not interfere with a K-1 visa application. Be sure to declare it where requested.

I just got BACK from a US visit using VWP and I have a K1 in progress - in fact we're at packet 3 stage!

I had no problems - tho the POE guy managed to worm out of me I was visiting my boyfriend, lol. I couldn't LIE when asked (he wanted to know the realtionship to me of the person I was staying with), so I told the truth - but I had a copy of my flight itinery (as I was using E-tickets I had no return ticket to show him) and he was happy with that :)
