I'm feeling really frustrated and discouraged...........I called the consulate in Ciudad Juarez a few weeks ago, and was told that our petition was there and had been 'qualified' on Sept. 19. The guy told me I could expect an appointment letter in 2-12 months (!!). So I called again today to see if there was an appointment scheduled. I was told there was none scheduled, and he told me I could expect an appointment letter in 5-8 months! I know I probably shouldn't believe anything they tell me, but I'm freaked out. I mean this is a K3...........I thought the whole point was that it was supposed to be quick. Someone please reassure me that it will be soon!

I just took a look at some of the timelines for the more recent people who have gone through Juarez for their interview and posted an embassy review here on VJ. The length of time between NVC receiving the paperwork and the interview date seemed to vary quite a bit, but the majority of the timelines I randomly chose to look at showed about one to two months between NVC and the interview date. Some seemed to take much longer though for whatever reason. It seems like we're told by whoever has our paperwork to expect to wait anywhere between 2 to 5 times as long as it actually takes for them to get it done.

I would just check out the reviews for the Juarez embassy under "Embassy Info". I'm guessing you won't be waiting a whole lot longer. It looks like you should be really prepared though! Seems like there's a lot of a-- h---s working there :(

many questions, please help me. I applied for K3, sent 130 and then 129f. I 130 approved and they think she already in states, 129f approved and is says "petition for fiance (E)" . . . . do they think she is my fiance? Yes I sent NOA and filled everything out right I checked again.

If this is normal what you all think I should do next?apply cr1/ir1 or stay with the K3?? SHould I call embassy in manila or customers service or what, yes I am confused now as if I wasnt already. WHat is a guess at timeline either way and please tell me what I do now.

Thank you all of you and any hey help I can offer I be glad to

Usually both the 130 and 129f is approved at the same time , its up to u which one to pursue , in my case i choose the k3 which has the two kind of petition the 130 and 129f coz i have kids to bring there ,mine took 9 months all in all until the day of my interview in manila, actually its case to case basis or in ur luck coz some choose the CR1 they approved faster , we never really know its really on uscis hands. The difference between the CR1 u will choose to pursue the 130 whicn an immigrant visa meaning when wife approved she will just process the citizenship when get there in the states while in k3 spouse visa u will choose to pursue the both 130 and 129f petition meaning ur wife can be there with u while waiting for the CR1 process , in k3 u will be given 2yrs unconditional status meaning u can stay there for 2yrs and should apply the AOS or adjustment of status before ur 2nd anniversary. and then next is citizenship. So again its up to u wat u will decide to pursue. processing i cant really say how long coz some took fast some unlucky took longer , i hope i help u a little about ur question

This is perfectly normal. When both I130 and I129F are approved together, the current policy is for USCIS to hold the I130 for eventual AOS. That is why the NOA2 says that your wife is already in the States. The I129F will be/has been forwarded to NVC, which will then forward it to the embassy for the interview and visa issuance. You no longer really have a choice of pursuing the CR1. There are options to get the I130 going again (filing an I-824), but that takes more time for USCIS to process (2-6 months) and costs more money.
