Question about UK Police report

My fiancee sent off the form to get her police report from Scotland Yard about 2-2 1/2 weeks ago.

She has her packet from the embassy prepared and we're wondering if she should go ahead and tic off that she has the police report and send in pages 1-4 for the embassy packet along with the DS forms now, or just send the DS forms for now.

Has anyone here had delays getting the police report? It looks like it's about 30 days from sending in the packet to getting the interview, so according to the UK law, she should have the report by then.

She's pretty stressed and worried about this whole process, so I thought I'd ask to see how long on average it's taken people to get the police report back.

Thanks.

They do promise to have it back within 40 days (providing it doesn't get lost in the post etc.)

Mine took 37 days. Good luck.

I got mine back well within the 40 days. In the meantime i took the risk and sent all of my forms to the embassy including the tick sheet saying that i had my police cerificate, even though i did not have it at that stage. It worked for me, but other people may tell you different.

Is there a place to get this form? I'm coming up on 'should' get my NOA2 soonish, and would rather get it early than have to delay the process waiting on it later on.

Just curious.

Thanks!

You get the form from your local Police Force. Most of them have them available to download on their websites these days. You're looking for a Subject Access Form.

I sent out my request for a police cert about one month ago.

Then on Nov 21 I got an e-mail from someone at the Met Police that read:

"Your application form confirms your first name as xxxx with the initials A B. Can you please clarify your names on full and fax me proof of identity for these names."

upon doing so (submitted a copy of my passort ID page) I was sent another e-mail that read:

"I have processed and forwarded your application form to the National Identification Service who are responsible for issuing the Police Checks."

as of today, Dec 5, I have not received the certificate and am fast approaching the 40 days. In addition I sent in Packet 3, and the interview wait time is normally short (no packet 4 yet either), so let's hope it gets here!

Anyone else on that postal strike? Are there no more delays in the UK?

cheers
