Changing jobs mid-process

I'm the USC, and currently I'm employed at a place where I make well above the 125% needed for the affidavit of support. ( was going to go soley off the letter from my employer to prove that)

Thing is, it's still not what I was making at a previous company (was laid off there) and I know, especially looking at all the opportunities out there that I can potentially make a lot more. I also would like to either work for a company that is more flexible when it comes to time off, or work for myself doing contracting (IT).

So then how will it look to the consulate if my affidavit of support comes through showing that I only JUST started a new job, or that I've only just started working on my own.

Oh also... isn't it true that if you're self-employed you have to provide three years of tax returns? Two of those three years I filed jointly with my ex husband, and the last one (for 2005) shows I barely made anything becuase of a preiod of unemployment.

My head says "stay where you are, becuase you went through so much just to get there" but my heart is saying "You've got more potential than that; don't waste your life working for a company you hate."

I had to start a new job a little before the I-129F was approved and sent to the consulate. What I did was sent the last paystub from the previous job, and one from the new (along with the offer letter) and bank statements with prefilled I-134.

Thanks, Sriniv! :D that's very reassuring.

I'll keep posting my resume then ;)

I just started a new job and my fiance's interview will be in a month-I plan on showing that there was NO time that I was unemployed, left one company to go to another :-)

Good luck, if you find a better job-take it!
