Greetings fellow K1 forum Subscribers,

I am new to this and would like a few questions answered please, so I can be informative sharing my progress on this K1 visa journey.

1) On the I-797C "Notice of Action" hard copy, I see 2 dates. The first one is "Received Date" and the other is "Notice Date". Which one is considered the NOA1 date?

Received Date: June 12, 2007

Notice Date: June 22, 2007

2) It appears it takes longer to get K1 approved from Canada, than other countries. Is it true?

My timeline

I-129F sent ..... June 8

NOA1 ..... June 12 or June 22, I don't know

Thanks.

1. It looks like your notice was generated at a busy time, some notices were late. But I would use received date.

2. Depends, if your interview is at Montreal, yeah it takes about 4-6 months to get an interview after you have been approved. Vancouver is faster. But its not the slowest country, that goes to the Dominican Republic with over 1 yr wait.

According to a receipting update posted on the USCIS website on 08/24/2007 (http://www.uscis.gov/files/pressrelease/Re...Times082407.pdf) the actual received date will be honored and recorded on the receipt notice. This date will appear in the "Received Date" box of the I-797, Notice of Action. The received date on Form I-797 is different than the "Notice Date," which also appears on the Notice and identifies the date the receipt notice was actually generated.

I hope this helps & good luck on your journey!
