Well, the timeline could be off depending on processing and I'm really curious how you have approval to file DCF while you only have a tourist visa instead of residency in Russia but otherwise the plan seems ok.

DCF requires the US Citizen to be resident in the consular district for 6 months.

To demonstrate residency in a consular district, American Citizen petitioners must be able to show that they have permission to reside in the consular district and that they have been doing so continuously for at least six months before filing the petition. Individuals who are in the country on a temporary status, such as student or tourist, would not be considered to meet the residency standard.

The state department is who sets the standards followed by all consulates and embassies.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

I asked for a waiver of the residency requirement. I talked with them again only days ago to double check and still got the OK. I am a disabled combat zone vet and retired military...but i am not certain exactly why they OKed my DCF request.

The fact that you requested a waiver and it was granted is the answer to my question. Thanks.

Not just the guide, but the separate forum folder for posting questions. This post would have been better in that folder. :)
