Processing times

I just noticed on the USCIS website that the processing time has been changed back from 6 months to March 15. Previously, they had been reporting by date, then changed to 6 months, and now change back to date, presently March 15.

Does anybody have any thoughts on this? Does it mean (interpreting their statement on improved processing) it is now taking longer than 6 months for approval?

Thanks for your thoughts.

I never paid any attention to those, relied on what was happening on VJ

  1. Applies to USCIS only. VSC did not change.
  2. It means that the oldest Non RFE CSC petition is dated 3/15, which depending on how you do the math could be considered slightly more than 6 months from 9/15.
  3. At the same time they are currently processing May petitions, so obviously the procesing time for everyone is not greater than 6 months.
  4. You will get more accurate information by doing your own timeline research on VJ or by monitoring bszoom42's CSC thread.

I never paid attention to the processing times anyway, bc you may get an RFE and there you go they tell you another 60days. plus your case may be simple and it may not be, the processing times are just an estimate, not an actual
