Where do our documents go after delivered at the POE?

Hi all

I am in doubt about where our papers are in this moment.

The brown sealed envelope I delivered at the POE. Will this envelope with all the documents be send to the place where my AOS is pending?

I hope so. Since some of my original documents is missing in my hands now for my upcoming interview.

Does anyone has any experience on this?

The contents of the brown sealed envelope should indeed end up at the office where you will have your AOS interview. My file was so thick when I went to my AOS interview and as the officer went through the file, I recognized all the paperwork from the original I-129F petition, etc.

When my daughter (who came to the US with a K-2 Visa) had her AOS interview, her brown envelope had not made it to the local office where her interview was at. They were going to require her to have another medical exam (because they did not have the copy of the medical exam in her file from her K-2 medical because that was in the brown envelope), but the officer went to ask her supervisor about it. The officer returned and said that her supervisor had said they had to assume that her medical was okay or else she should never have been granted the K-2 Visa in the first place. So, she got approved, even without her brown envelope being at her AOS interview.

If you do not have original documents that you will require for your AOS interview, you may have a problem if the brown envelope does not arrive before your interview. You should have provided copies of the documents and kept the originals for yourself.

When we entered the country, the POE officer indicated the package will be sent to our field office in Buffalo for eventual adjustment of status case.

I did send copies of everything back this time. But most importent for me to get back is my divorce papers. I ofcause have a copy of this.

So hopefully they have recieved the brown envelope for our interview

My son came with me on a K-2 visa and all his documents was together with mine in this brown envelope. So I hope that they didn't split it
