Okay, question. I'm not in that place of interview yet...but when It comes i want to know..do I have to be there with him for the interview. I would love to but our daughter is in school and she also is disabled, so taking her back to Africa might be difficult with meds and all that. Is it nessesary?? what are the pros and cons. Thanks

Depends on the country, but often, you wont be allowed to be in the interview with your fiancee. On the other hand, some countries encourage that the USC fiance attend the interview.

Nope only the foreign fiance(e) has to attend the interview.

Of course the petitioner can join but is not required.

Thank you! He's from Zambia do you think that the consulates will look down upon it if I'm not there?

As a single issue, it isn't a problem. I could be that Zambia doesn't allow the USC to be present for the actual interview anyway. It is definitely not required but can be a major factor when the bona fide evidence is otherwise weak.

My cousin said that I wouldn't be allowed to go in for the interview with my fiance, but I can't help but wish I was there because the four hour time difference is gonna make me feel crazy waiting to know what happened. But that's well in the distance anyway. I'm just waiting, waiting, waiting. I only filed my application in June.

Most embassies don't require the USC to be present. Did you look at your embassy's web site?

Okay, thanks we have tons of letters and emails as well as current phone card bills, and text messages. So I don't think evidence will be an issue. I hope not at least. Thanks so much!!!
