Good Day to everyone! Its so nice to have a site like this that help people like me to some questions that hard to get answer of.

First of all, Im a cambodian. Ive been here since I was 15 and I dont know why I never applied for naturalization. Teenager stuff, bad friends....I dont know.....I was convicted for burglary last 1999 and 2002 but the case was dismissed even I pledge guilty. Now my problem is when I applied for naturalization, I was denied because of good moral character. I needed to be citizen so I could petition my wife which is a Filipina and her kids (currently in philippines). I love my wife so much, she gave me my life a meaning thats why I was so down when I got the denial letter from USCIS. I dont know what to do? It will take a long time to petition her because im only a green card holder. The attorney who is processing our papers already file for petition for my wife but as I said it'll take a long time. How can I get my citizenship?Im a change man? How can I clear the records on my file? and how can I get my wife a social security number? Hope somebody help me with my query...im desperate....

:help:

I think he's referring to the burglary convictions.

I think he meant to say "bad" moral character. You cannot be denied for good moral character. There isn't really anything that I can think of to hlep with your case, except hiring an immigrations attorney. Good luck!

Yeah...Im sorry my message was incomplete. Im in need of a good moral character. I tried to ask several attorneys that I thought can help but unfortunately they say the same. I wanted to know how long does it takes to clear record on file so I could apply for citizenship again? And is it possible to apply my wife for social security number? Thank you so much for your reply and help..........

you cant apply for a SSN for your wife until she is here legally. I think you need a good immigration attorney. your past mistakes will be with you for a good while. even a bankruptcy takes 7 years to clear off your record and thats not even criminal. your cases might be on there permanently. sorry you are now paying for what you did back then, but things have their consequences. even if you have changed.

And with them being 1999 AND 2002, it doesnt seem to USCIS that your mistake was a one time lapse in judgement. they are 3 years apart. they will judge you on that. thats going to cause you problems. You need a good immigration attorney. You have a long tough road ahead of you.
