We are not using a lawyer. Is it better to have my husband (USC) as the agent to receive the documents or is it faster to have myself as the agent and have them mailed directly to me? Please give me your thoughts and experiences.

We appointed hubby (US cit) as agent - easier him sending fees in dollars than me transfering to NVC in sterling. Downloaded and signed forms here in UK and mailed out to hubby in advance so they were all ready to post into NVC once requested.

*** Tip. Go to NVC forum and take a look at Aussies timesaving tips. They have been so useful, she is a STAR.

Good Luck.

It takes 3-4 weeks for the NVC to receive your case and assign a case number, regardless of service center. If they still haven't received your K3-petition, I would call USCIS and see what's wrong (even though you might want to talk to an NVC-operator first). Your I-130 should be arriving at NVC in the next few weeks.

Permanent Green Card Holder since 2006, considering citizenship application in the future.

Pharmacist, I hope Fischkoepfin has answered your question........phone NVC (if you haven't already done so). I have noticed a few people have had a long wait getting a visa number generated......a call will give you peace of mind that everything than can be done is being done. Good Luck.........I will let you know when our number is issued.
